They get drunk in Gremlins at a bar and don't multiply.
Gremlins is the better movie by far

Gremlins 2 was my favoured when it came out, & I was much younger, & Return of the Jedi was still my #1 film. That phase passed pretty quickly.
Gremlins 1 if you will gained steam with dvd & adding it to easy Christmas themed movies that aren't Christmas movies that you don't get sick of watching around Christmas.

I enjoy them both. As a kid I did love 2 more I think. The variety of Gremlins once they start wandering around the tv studio...vampire gremlin, female gremlin, brain gremlin, etc. made it more enjoyable to kid me.

Both are a lot of fun. I revisit both quite often. I do get quite a nostalgia trip in part 1 because of the Montgomery Wards towards the end. I miss that store.
