What do you think about our country nowadays? What is the sentiment where you're from?
And, do you accept that quite often there is a difference between what our government does and what we citizens want done?

I'm asking this in all honesty. You're from where? The northeastern corner of the U.S.
(And that's as specific as I'm going to get!)

I'd say at least 90% of the Australians I know think Trump is an idiot. We don't blame the American people as much as we feel sorry for them.

My belief is no different than it was 10 years ago. An average American is as good a human being as an average non-American. Individually people are not different anywhere.
Yes, collectively various people as groups can be different in terms of our subjective understanding of morality. This is because group actions create different set of norms in different economic and socio-environmental conditions. America has pros and cons. The pros are it's contribution to science and its endeavour to do good. Also, importance it places on bolstering human rights for each individual is praiseworthy. The cons are its foreign policy and interventionist approach and also its reliance on two party system. As for Trump, I largely see him as a joker and to some extent I find it embarrassing that a country with over 300 million people decided to elect that sort of person as their president.

No, more specificity is required. No one will track you down if you name the state. Well that hurts my feelings...

And, do you accept that quite often there is a difference between what our government does and what we citizens want done? As a Canadian, I think your country is broken, & you're all too afraid to truly admit it. Your everyday livelihoods share a vast majority of centrist philosophies, & yet you allow yourselves to be governed by full imbecilic fringe lunatics & hacks. Low voter turnout is pathetic. I keep suggesting they fix the hole in the bottom of the suggestion box but they never respond.

It's like watching a mate who's had too much to drink decide to end it all.
He's too drunk and incapable of carrying it out, but it's still probably a good idea to keep an eye on him until he sobers up.

You mean the rest of the world isn't starting to respect the United States again? Trump lied about this?

But its in the top 10 of my favorite countries in the world. Most people in Norway are positive to the United States frankly many Norwegians are a bit to obsessed about the US in my opinion. Yes i accept that there is a difference between your government and what citizens wants.

my friends in Europe are all laughing at the US now (big change from before), and think Trump is an embarassmment and a borderline moron/sociopath but that may be just my social bubble.
Certainly there are people who think differently though but this is my experience from talking to my friends about it..
People still kinda look up to the US in certain areas but overall the image of the country did suffer.
PS - the feedback includes republican leaning people too. Those that would have voted for McCaine against Obama but cant accept Trump as a serious person/capable leader.

I am Finnish. My opinions haven't changed. I still think that George W. Bush has been the worst U.S. president during my lifetime.
I disagree with the U.S. policy in the Middle East, and I also disagree with Trump's views on climate change.
My friends and relatives don't blame ordinary citizens for their government's actions. Most of my countrymen probably share this opinion as well.

Smart move, as my life's goal is to track you down and immerse you in a vat of Marshmellow Fluff.
