My early returns on Yes so far are more promising than Genesis. I've listened to all of the latter's albums and most just sound like almost aimless noise. I prefer Yes's mixture of styles, although at the end of the day neither band are really my cup of tea.

Genesis.
I've been a big fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins's presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece.

Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. Good call. Same here. I think Invisible Touch is obviously their most accessible album, but it's also a bit of a sell-out to conformity.

Genesis is okay, but I prefer Yes. I have almost all of their albums. I'm up to Going for the One so far and I just prefer the music over Genesis, though I'm not a huge fan of the 25 minute blowouts.

Yeah, you gotta be in the right mood for those long pieces. I have all but two of the studio albums. I tend to listen more to the earlier works, though.

Yes, but both bands were good. Chris Squire's bass playing gives Yes the edge, in my opinion.
