LeBron didn’t select Simmons. Giannis took him and LeBron winced and cursed, the only reaction to any of Giannis picks. Giannis referred to Simmons as “your guy” when talking to James. After the draft, LeBron offered Westbrook for Simmons and Giannis accepted. LeBron said he wanted to give Westbrook and Embiid time to bond as teammates. Some Rocket Fans are crying because Harden was chosen 7th out of 8th in All-Star game draft. I think it was more because LeBron wanted to pick future free agents. Plus, who really wants to play with Harden? He is an amazing talent, but he is the most ball dominant player in the NBA.

NBA all-star draft was tonight. LeBron certainly did his best to stoke my fear that Simmons is going to skip town and head to LA. read my mind when I saw that but it's not like he took him first or second..... I mean - Simmons had a chance to go to James or Giannis....just 2 people. but I agree - when I first saw that scroll that LeBron picked Simmons - I got an uneasy feeling in my stomach. I don't doubt Jo-Jo wants to stay here long term - he seems Philly. my fear - like you - is losing Simmons for nothing - to L.A. and they possibly get nothing in return. They are going to offer Simmons a max extension in the offseason. I am 100% sure of that. I hope he accepts it. I do not need an entire year of will he or won't he. I actually think he will. I also think they sign Harris. Butler I am on the fence about. The final result of this season will have a huge impact on who signs. I think Harris signs no matter what, but Simmons and Butler are the wildcards. If they make the Finals, then I think they both will resign.

I hope people don't jump off a cliff and overreact if they start off slow or did happen to drop the game - like we tend to do at times (overreact) - if they don't mesh right off the bat - there's been some new pieces added and some departures.
seems like ellington and Matthews who I had my eye at during the buyout period are going elsewhere. I just want another 3&D wing off the bench and backup point.
really looking forward to that nationally televised Lakers game on Sunday at 3:30pm on ABC = should be a blast with an electric atmosphere.

I am with you. I think they might start off a little slow to develop chemistry, but it would be awesome if they can go on a little streak out of the gate.

Bulls: A The bad news: Porter is owed $27.3 million in 2019-20, then he has a player option for $28.5 million during the following season. Aaaaand...that's about it. Everything else is positive here, and the Bulls can afford to absorb an elevated salary for a high-end role player because so many of their key pieces are on cheap, rookie-scale contracts. Porter's off-ball acumen should help him mesh perfectly with Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn and Lauri Markkanen, all of whom need the rock in order to maximize their skill sets. He plays defense, which helps make up for the defensive liabilities/projects taking the floor on a regular basis. He's willing to do the little things—always an important trait for a glue guy on an up-and-coming roster. Maybe he makes the pursuit of top odds in the Zion Williamson sweepstakes a bit tougher, but that's a price Chicago should be willing to pay right now. Landing a player of Porter's caliber is hard, particularly when you're offering nothing more than two expiring contracts and a second-round pick conveyed years into the future. -Adam Fromal Most experts say they lost this trade bad. Supposedly, Portis is the better player and makes less money. I am not sure if I agree with that, but that is what everyone keeps saying. I'd say, from what I've seen (and I've watched at least 20 videos on the topic), it's much closer to 50/50. Fact is, Portis is gonna get free agent money this off-season. The bulls tried to extend him and he declined. They cannot pay him as much as he wants to be the backup. And I'll say it. Punch-Bob Shit-bloke is not good. Bad shooting "big man" who doesn't play defense and isn't the starter? Isn't that what we already pay Cristiano Felicio $8 million a year for?

anybody ever hear of this Philadelphia squad? they look quite impressive. up 50-34 on the Nuggets right now. have a feeling anybody that runs into this squad in the future may be 'Dead Man Walking' as the Sixers are just rollin' rollin' rollin' ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/s8tffwvq1/cheers.gif)

He's been off on those for a while.

95-93 nuggs.
kind of impressive no 'star' has stepped up and they're in this game - Redick is having a night.
apparently Embiid is 'under the weather'.
I've stated this a million times - I don't see that Superstar in Butler i'd max.
seems like Brown has been rolling with the bench for a majority of 2nd - maybe sending a message to Simmons and Butler.
still a game with like 8 to play. like to see who of these 'stars' steps up

I've been disappointed with the Nuggets, they really seem like that overachieving regular season team that won't do squat in the playoffs. Couldn't even beat the 76ers, I need them and the Celtics to lose. My greatest satisfaction will be the Pacers holding 3rd place even without Oladipo.

I looked at the standings a few hours ago and was in shock what did oladipo go down like 2 or so weeks ago and they're like #3 in the conference? how are they hanging in there. thought they were an afterthought. I see Wesley Matthews is going (or has gone) over there after being bought out by the Knicks..... I expect them to falter as the season winds down - but I expected this much sooner - i.e. as soon as 'dipo went down......

jeff van gundy - as smug as he is - (i'm loving it) is destroying Gayle Benson - owner of the Pels for bowing to NBA pressure to play AD.
if van gundy is commentating a game your team is playing - it can be a drain - but i'll give him this - if he's commentating a game your team isn't involved - his hateraide and smugness is topnotch entertainment

While I don't think we'll make as much noise in the playoffs as we originally would have, we'll still be many east team's worst nightmare. We didn't lose our most important player, Myles Turner, and our overall team is still really good. We're not contenders, but we're still a tough matchup for anyone in the league. Wes Mathews will help out a ton as well.

I expect both teams to overtake them, leaving Indiana with the 5 seed and a matchup between either Boston or Philly. I don't like their odds.

Feel as if I was a little too harsh and overly judgemental on Butler above - he had a sneaky efficient game - 22 pts, 7 rebounds, 5 assists (and I don't recall any turnovers) in 36 minutes

clips release Michael Beasley.
interesting. seems like a headcase who's bounced around.
but can light it up when he wants to.
any contenders out there willing to take a chance on him - i.e. a guy on the bench who can fill it up in spurts?

Lakers with 40 pts in the 1st quarter
that is unacceptable and just atrocious
that being said Sixers have 39.
40-39 after 1.
