Well, you do have the "The" connection. Lol. I'd actually change the title of the third one too. I always hated "The Dark Knight Rises". People at the time were saying it should be called Bruce Wayne. Worked for Logan, I guess. I think TDK trilogy followed the "first and third" trend. You have followers of Ra's al Ghul out to finish what he started and whatnot. Batman is once again the central character whereas TDK is more of an ensemble, and it's basically a standard superhero plot with villains trying to destroy a city whereas TDK is famously more like a crime drama. Add on the fact that Joker isn't even mentioned, and TDK feels the most disconnected of the three, outside a few token mentions of Harvey. Not sure about Bruce Wayne—I don’t think I would have chosen that. But what you wrote about The Dark Knight Trilogy is exactly what I mean—and exactly what I think about the three. TDK is indeed the least connected, curiously. It’s also funny how often the less-connected middle film is the darkest and often considered the best: The Dark Knight, The Godfather: Part II, The Empire Strikes Back. And the first is considered the most fun of the trio— Batman Begins, The Godfather, Star Wars—and the third is considered the weakest— The Dark Knight Rises, The Godfather: Part III, Return of the Jedi. Any more trilogies that fit this pattern? Indiana Jones doesn’t exactly fit. With Star Wars I understand because Empire wasn't really popular upon release, but it is baffling that TDKR would emulate BB most when TDK was a cultural phenomenon. As for that pattern, I can think of some loosely similar. I wouldn't say Scream 2 is considered the best of that franchise (though it does have the highest RT score, oddly), but it fits the pattern otherwise. Then there's the Alien trilogy. It's debatable which was better, but Aliens was definitely more popular and successful than Alien, yet 3 emulated the latter the most, down to dropping the action for horror again and wiping out the Aliens characters in the opening credits.

I re-watched the trilogy on Feb 27th-28th 2018...
1)Batman Begins (2005) - 6/10 (a mild Thumbs Up) 2)The Dark Knight (2008) - 5.5-6/10 (barely a Thumbs Up) 3)The Dark Knight Rises (2012) - 5/10 (Thumbs Down)
basically... the 3rd movie is no longer worth re-watching and the 2nd movie dropped off a little further as it was a 6/10 prior to the recent viewing and now it's barely in the thumbs up zone. even the best movie of the series is still on the weaker side of super hero movies I like of which there are not that many.

I am a huge fan of all 3 and I LOVE the choice to name the first movie in the trilogy Batman BEGINS.
1. The Dark Knight - 9/10 2. Batman Begins - 9/10 3. The Dark Knight Rises - 8/10

Batman Starts. Nah, calling it Batman anything doesn’t fit with the other two. But I can’t think of what else to call it. Actually, The Dark Knight Rises might work, but then what does one call the third one, in which the character is suppose to “rise again,” Christlike, from the ashes of defeat in TDK? The Dark Knight Returns, or would people confuse it with the comic book of the same name? I dunno. The Dark Knight: Origins Dark Origins

Dark Knight Rises ruined what could have been a perfect trilogy
I dn;t usually rate with a number system, but I'll give it a shot
Begins - 8 Dark Knight - 10 Rises - 5
Rises drops a good 3 or 4 points solely off the abomination that was it's last 15 or so minutes.

BB 7.5/10 TDK 7/10 TDR 7.5/10
Certainly all good movies with some great scenes and moments, but I prefer Tim Burton's Batman movies.

I'll just rank it all together at 3/10.
Batman Begins, undeniably the best of the three by any sane standard, is only about 6/10. It brings the trilogy up a bit, but it's not classic by any means.
The Dark Knight 1/10, not only one of the worst movies ever made, but merely a jumbo of every Hollywood cliché ever put into one batch for the geeks and haters. Brought to a stupid low when Batman rescues a guy in distress to let a damsel in distress die. Way too gay, and no heterosexual guy will ever rate this 1/10. Can't be done. Same old Hollywood formula of depressing the straight guys. Not surprised that so many of the geeks of IMDB actually like this, since they base what they like on how much sane people don't like. IMDB has more sado-masochists than any site I know of. I feel sorry for the friends and families of you seriously deranged sickos.
The Dark Knight Rises. 2/10.
Altogether, one has to admit the style is dull and puts you to sleep. Even with all the noise and bangs, it comes across as dull, with dialog that sounds as unnatural as one can get. Worst writing, worst directing, worst of everything possible.
This is how not to make movies, unless you're making them for "haters".

Batman Begins - 8/10 The Dark Knight - 8/10
The Dark Knight Rises - 3/10 A total mess, easily Nolan's worst film.

This does not sound like something a well balanced person would write. Way too judgmental. Assumes people think a certain way because they like a movie.

I don't know if you're lying, insane, or ignorant. But those are the only three choices. You and your fellow geeks are the only judgmental ones. I never singled out any one. I merely pointed out what the facts were. If someone cheers for a mobster murdering people, then the person is sick, and that is not "judgmental". That is definitive. It is purely objective fact, no matter how much you lie about it. Yes, people who like certain movies do think certain ways. To like movies that preach demonic evil is insane. It is what it is. Yep, you are the judgmental one. Not me. I merely record the facts. It's all there on paper, and as long as those movies are available to be seen, they are what they are. I didn't make them. You want to blame someone for being judgmental, then blame the lunatics who made those hate movies. Thanks for proving my point, though.

Ok you people see the level of anger in that post he made? And what's this about people cheering for mobsters murdering people in The Dark Knight? The protagonists were good guys trying to stop the Joker from killing people. The movie doesn't preach evil. It's about order vs chaos. Keeping people on the right path amid a warzone.
