Batman Begins 9/10 A wonderful starter film that takes Batman with a realistic approach. It is explained where Batman got his suit and vehicle in a believable manner. Its a very optimistic film not one that is gloomy or violent. It inspires us to want to be Batman or at least become a symbol like him. I subtracted one point because they miss pronounced Ra's Al Ghul's name.
The Dark Knight 9/10 The epic follow up film shows that the Joker is just as scary as any terrorist or cartel member. A shocking and hardboiled depiction of Batman's nightmare villains made real. Even Two Face is thrown in as a twist completely catching unfamiliar people of guard. One point is removed because the Joker wasn't perma white.
The White Knight Rises 6/10 Yeah it was dumb. Lesbian homosexual Catwoman sets up Batman to be beaten and imprisoned and he still comes to her like nothing happened. Also Bane takes venom steroids for his muscles but it's not mentioned. The movie doesn't understand how money works, and there's no way all cops in the city would get imprisoned like that.

Very solid. I’d say there’s not a bad movie amongst the 3.

I don’t often do ratings out of 10, but I’d probably rank them in order of release: Batman Begins as the best, then The Dark Knight, and last The Dark Knight Rises. I only wish BB had a better title.

I only wish BB had a better title. I'm almost surprised that it hasn't been retroactively renamed "The Dark Knight Begins" or something.

Batman Starts. Nah, calling it Batman anything doesn’t fit with the other two. But I can’t think of what else to call it. Actually, The Dark Knight Rises might work, but then what does one call the third one, in which the character is suppose to “rise again,” Christlike, from the ashes of defeat in TDK? The Dark Knight Returns, or would people confuse it with the comic book of the same name? I dunno.

Would have immediately set itself apart as a reboot, whereas "Begins" makes it sound like a prequel. And that's what he's called throughout (whereas he's not Christianed "The Dark Knight" until the movie of the same name, and if you called Begins "TDK anything" you'd have to change the name of TDK itself).

Very fair point, and I do like the title—it’s certainly better than Batman Begins. But it just seems that the second two films, at least by title, are connected, while the first still seems on its own. Maybe that’s not a problem, though? (Oddly, too, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are the ones that are closely linked; I’ve noticed that with trilogies the first and third entries tend to be the most alike. Same also applied to The Godfather and The Godfather: Part III and Star Wars and Return of the Jedi, I thought.)

I'd actually change the title of the third one too. I always hated "The Dark Knight Rises". People at the time were saying it should be called Bruce Wayne. Worked for Logan, I guess. I think TDK trilogy followed the "first and third" trend. You have followers of Ra's al Ghul out to finish what he started and whatnot. Batman is once again the central character whereas TDK is more of an ensemble, and it's basically a standard superhero plot with villains trying to destroy a city whereas TDK is famously more like a crime drama. Add on the fact that Joker isn't even mentioned, and TDK feels the most disconnected of the three, outside a few token mentions of Harvey.

But what you wrote about The Dark Knight Trilogy is exactly what I mean—and exactly what I think about the three. TDK is indeed the least connected, curiously. It’s also funny how often the less-connected middle film is the darkest and often considered the best: The Dark Knight, The Godfather: Part II, The Empire Strikes Back. And the first is considered the most fun of the trio— Batman Begins, The Godfather, Star Wars—and the third is considered the weakest— The Dark Knight Rises, The Godfather: Part III, Return of the Jedi. Any more trilogies that fit this pattern? Indiana Jones doesn’t exactly fit.
