So as Catman is getting out of the car yesterday, this woman comes up and says, "You can't park there. It's valet parking!"
No, it's clearly marked as a handicapped parking stall.
"Well, you're not handicapped!"
No, but Catwoman is, which is why she needs the wheelchair Catman is getting out of the backseat.
"Well, you don't have a handicapped tag!"
Actually, Catwoman is just now hanging that on the mirror, because it's illegal to drive with that in place.
"Well, you can't park there!"
You got a complaint? There's the valet parking office over there. Tell them!
"Don't think I won't!" And she scurries off to report Catman.
Unfortunately, Catman could not stay around to see what came of her rantings to the valet parking attendants, since Catwoman needed to get to her appointment.

the first question doesnt really baffle me.. but subjecting someone to further questionning/criticisizing after they take out a wheelchair from their car is just crazy.
what was her real concern you think? were you in any esublocking something with your car or somehow obstructing traffic or do u think it was just her “concern” over you getting what she percieved as an unfair advantage??

I guess the way things are going nowadays, you should just consider yourself lucky they didn't shoot at you!

Catman Sounds like you handled it perfectly. Incredibly sad that you and CatWoman had to be subjected to such total nonsense.

True anecdote follows:
I drove into a drug store parking lot about 2 months ago to buy some vitamins. There was a young lady sitting in her vehicle jabbering on a cell phone. She was clearly parked in one of two handicapped spaces. I examined her vehicle and determined that she did not have either handicapped plates or a sticker. I approached her and politely stated to her that she was parked in a restricted space. She glared at me and barked "so what the hell are you gonna do about it?"
To which I calmly replied "nothing, other than to tell you that you are an ignorant inconsiderate bitch."
So much for minding my own business.

koskiewicz Curiosity is getting the better of me here First … yes she was wrong to be sitting in the handicapped spot without stickers, etc. BUT What did you think that you would actually accomplish by approaching the "young lady sitting in her vehicle jabbering on a cell phone."? She knew that she was parking in the wrong spot. She didn't CARE that she was in the wrong spot. IF she was the driver, she had deliberately parked in the wrong spot and did not care. IF she was a passenger, she was not the one who had chosen to be parked in the wrong spot and was not responsible for being there.. If it really was important to you that she not be parked in that particular wrong spot .. there is usually an area in stores where security can be informed and it is their job to do the reprimanding.
Did you really expect a "golly, gee, mister, I didn't know! I will move immediately ?" type response ?
k, then,. I'm done !

bat: That I was able to call her an "ignorant inconsiderate bitch" in a very calm manner actually made my day.
Her flippant reply to me was the catalyst that forced my reply. The look on her face after my comment was one of incredulous stupidity.

I'm sorry that happened to you, Catman. I hear of this kind of stupidity happening way too often.

...one more qualifier for BAT:
I am a Vietnam war era veteran, drafted in the late '60's. When I returned home after my overseas tour, I was largely ignored and treated like a pariah. In fact, when I came home, I had to hitch hike home to my parents home because other transportation was not afforded to me. I am currently active in veteran affairs especially for disabled vets. When I see idiots like this dumb bunny abuse those things afforded to any and all disabled people, my blood boils, but as I have inferred, I always act with a sense of decorum. I would do this again if the opportunity presented itself.

koskiewiczI meant no disrespect in my question... I guess it seems to me to be such a fruitless and potentially dangerous thing to do. Dangerous because anyone using a disabled spot when they have no business there is not going to be the kind of person who takes kindly to being confronted about their rudeness and idiocy and is liable to do more than mouth off when confronted. Fruitless because all it's really ultimately going to do is upset the confronter because they will get nowhere !
Thank you for your service then and now !

Some days it feels like the entire Human species has lost its collective mind.
