Maybe I'm a minority here, but I really enjoyed the hospital sequence in Rob Zombie's film more than the entire hospital sequence in Halloween 2. I'm not saying Zombie's film is better, but he is a capable director and storyteller and creating suspense, and I found his hospital sequence to be extremely effective and suspenseful.

I mean, are we comparing the 90 minutes of '81 to the 10-minute sequence in Rob's movie? Kinda hard to compare.
Of all the things wrong with Rob's Halloween films, that sequence is not one of them. It's just a shame that the rest of movie doesn't quite stick the landing.
'81 ain't perfect, but Haddonfield Memorial is downright iconic at this point. It really helped an otherwise middling film differentiate from its predecessor.
So, I guess I choose '81. 🤷

I guess ‘81 is better just because the whole movie is set in this location, giving you a more effective feel in its time of featuring it.
I will say that the hospital scene in RZH2 is one of the best parts of the movie (and has one of my favourite deaths in the franchise).

'81, because it's not a dream sequence.

I liked RZH2 hospital scene in general and thought it was one of the best parts of the movie, but it in no way comes close to comparing to the original Halloween 2 hospital scenes. Just my take
