I'm not asking for boring movies. these are the movies that can be on late at night on TV and you just fall asleep watching them not because they're boring if a movie is real boring you'll start thinking and thinking doesn't put you to sleep. The scene in Jaws while they are on the boat at night talking that's a perfect scene to fall asleep to. Blade runner is a good one, Lord of the rings is good.

I like to put on Fantasia or Singin' in the Rain or one of the many versions of The Nutcracker Suite. OR any movie that you are familiar with and know the story so you aren't actually watching watching it.

I see what you mean but some films are just too bright or have too many sudden loud noises a darker in tone movie is the best to fall asleep to |

I fell asleep during The Philadelphia Experiment on two separate viewings. Finally made it through at the third attempt. I hadn't missed much.

Though I really like the movie, and really love the book, "The Shawshank Redemption." It's far from boring, but I could go to sleep with that on every night. Perhaps its because they spend so much time helping the viewer to understand the meager comforts an inmate could enjoy? I love the story, but the movie as a whole makes me appreciate a bed/blanket/breakfast.
Actually all prison movies have this effect on me, except for "Bad Boys"...the Sean Penn one. That pillowcase full of soda cans is brutal

Anything that is not even remotely suspenseful or exciting will do the trick.
Old movies on TCM can do the trick depending on their schedule.
I also don't watch TV with commercials since those whacky horror movie trailers are on everything.

Apocalypse Now
Long movie, slow burn, low narration volume, lots of spoken lines, outdoor jungle sounds, capped by a final act that can need a bit of caffeine.
