Galactic Empire: Obi Wan Kenobi Was Killed After Fight On Death Star
May 25, 1977
Authorities have film of Mr Kenobi being murdered, according to Yavin media.
The Galactic Empire has said Obi Wan Kenobi was killed onboard the Death Star after a fight broke out.
Mr Kenobi, 62, went missing on May 25 1977, during a visit to the Death Star and intense pressure had been growing on the Empire to explain his disappearance.
The Empire's public prosecutor was quoted on the HoloNet as saying that a fight broke out between Mr Kenobi and Lord Vader, leading to his death.
It contradicts the country's initial claim that the Old Wizard - who was critical of the Empire's rulers - had left the Space Station alive.
The HoloNet said the Empire "expresses its deep regret" over Mr Kenobi's death.
There has been no word about what was done with Mr Kenobi's body.

I think it would have been funny if it turned out in TESB that Vader said: "No, you killed your father." As in, it turns out Luke's father was a prisoner on the Death Star when Luke blew it up.  |

Imperials reportedly scrapped coverup plan because Kenobi 'body double' wore the wrong sandals

An alleged Imperial plot to cover up the killing of dissident Jedi Obi Wan Kenobi went awry after a suspected "body double" wore the wrong sandals, a diplomat familiar with the matter told The Coruscant Post.
The report came shortly after GNN published footage that appeared to show a man leaving the Death Star wearing a fake beard, as well as the brown Jedi robes Kenobi was seen wearing when he arrived on the Death Star.
"It was a flawed body double, so it never became an official part of the Empire's narrative," the diplomat told the Post.
The report came shortly after GNN published footage that appeared to show the man visiting the Jedi Mosque, a historic mosque and tourist attraction on Jeddha.

Film Offers Gruesome Details of Kenobi Killing, Rebel Official Says

Imperial Stormtroopers were waiting when Ben Kenobi walked on to the Death Star two weeks ago.
Mr. Kenobi was dead within hours, according to details from film recordings described by a senior Rebel official.
The film appears to show Mr. Kenobi was lightsabered in half, and by Lord Vader himself.
The gruesome new leaks came a day after members of Imperial Senate had appeared to accept at face value the promises of the Empire to conduct their own investigation into Mr. Kenobi’s disappearance — regardless of Rebel assertions that senior figures in the Empire had ordered his killing.
