Any fans of this beauty?
It's a fantastic old-school slasher. Deserves recognition as being every bit the equal of the better Friday the 13th movies. Beautiful, eerie setting, well-rounded and genuinely likeable characters, a disturbing and (due to the backstory) actually somewhat compelling antagonist, oodles of tension and some nice gore. This one deserves more recognition.

I've always preferred it to the FRIDAY THE 13TH films. Decent cast, great work from Tom Savini and a good score from keyboard legend Rick Wakeman.
I hear some people nowadays bemoan the fact that Harvey Weinstein was writer/producer of this early Miramax project.

All I remember is George Costanza and a pair of gardening shears.

I love it. It's one of my favorite slashers and I think it's as good as Friday the 13th. Great gore effects by Tom Savini.

Just seen it for the first time. Pretty well-done slasher despite feeling quite slow in the first half.

What it lacks in originality it makes up for in gruesome sfx and solid characters. I own the Scream Factory Blu-ray and watch it just about every summer.
