I'm thinking of watching it. It looks original and pretty interesting. I don't really like Jerry Lewis, but Sandra Bernhard could be fun to watch. She did win the National Society of Film Critics' award for Best Supporting Actress. Scorsese is hit or miss with me. Same goes for DeNiro.
Also, I believe Shelly Hack has a small role. (For me, this would be a plus. I loved Tiffany Wells!)

I'm not a big fan of Lewis either, but he doesn't do his wacky comedy in this one. I like him better in this serious role. Bernhard really makes the movie, though.

It's in my top hundred. It might depend on your taste for De Niro's character, which can be off putting for some viewers - it certainly is for other characters in the movie.

My favorite Scorsese movie. Jerry Lewis is remarkable as a stalked TV host.

I recommend it, if you like De Niro at all. You like Shelley Hack? Worst Angel evaaa!

Not really. It's a solid 6/10 movie.
It's one of those movies that seems important, and you want to say you like it, but overall it's very dull. PATHS OF GLORY is an example of such a film. It really should be a half hour long. At that length, you get the punch without the droning on and on. Unless you're on serious drugs, you probably won't be able to just sit and watch the whole thing straight through.
But it's one of those important films that you do want to see. Not quite as important as Paths of Glory. I'd watch it on stage before watching it on film, because it is a "performance piece".

Never held any appeal to me and because Lewis was in it and it looked like it was about stand up comedians which I am not fond of. I have just watched the trailer and it looks pretty interesting in fact and could be another of Scorsese's sleepers like Alice Doesn't Live Her Anymore and After Hours. "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" and "After Hours" and "Mean Streets" are the 3 Scorsese movies that I love. I just happened into "After Hours" last summer. I walked past the Music Box and saw that "After Hours" was starting in 20 minutes. Well, that required no thinking. I paid my fare and found myself a nice little sit just right of center. What a hoot that movie was! And all he wanted was a cup of coffee. I enjoyed the movie very much.

I think Tiffany is kind and friendly; but the main thing that turned me on to Tiffany Wells, was when my friend was making his list of favorite to least favorite Angels, and when he picked Tiffany before Kelly, I had to ask him why and he said because Shelly seemed like a good sport. Then he went on to say that while Kelly Garret was pretty and seemed sweet, there was no humor in her character. He found her bland. I got it. And I've never looked at Tiffany the same way again. Her presence is very mild, but I like her a lot.

Definitely the most underrated Scorsese movie, and one of De Niro's best roles. Sergio Leone met with Marty in 1984 and told him that this was his most mature movie

Jerry Lewis on and off screen makes me want to puke ! DeNiro is NOT one of my go-to actors. Sarah Bernhardt, ICK.
Bottom line. NO !
