Their subject matter and lyrics are soooo depressing. But their music has a lot of soul. It's like The Blues on steroids.
Without even knowing the lyrics, their music sticks in my head.
Do you like them?

They were my favorite band of the grunge movement, but I wasn't a huge fan of grunge as a whole.

Yes. So much great material spread across such a small discography. Badmotorfinger through Down on the Upside is essential '90s rock.
If I had to pick a favorite track, I'd go with 4th of July. So nasty, so dirty. I love it.

So nasty, so dirty. I love it. These are not necessarily their best songs. But right now "Burden in my Hand" and "The Day I Tried To Live" are stuck in my head.

They're OK, not someone I've ever really listened to by choice.

I like them in small doses. Cornell's vocals are pretty much the same thing over and over again.

Sure, Badmotorfinger and Superunknown are two of their best works.

I definitely enjoy lots of their tunes. The title track to "Superunknown", "Rusty Cage", and "Burden in My Hand" are some of my favourites.

Hell Yes! They're one of my favorite bands of all time and Cornell ranks as one of my Top 10 Rock vocalists ever. Superunknown is in my opinion one of the best rock albums of the 90's. Badmotorfinger is also solid. Louder Than Love and Down on the Upside aren't as solid, but they both have enough great songs to make up for any filler.
To the guy who said Cornell's vocals were the same over and over: listen to his solo album, Euphoria Morning and tell me how exactly is it the same as with Soundgarden? Even if he used similar vocal patterns, how many singers matched the impressive body of work like he did with Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, his solo work and Audioslave?
