Is the Lord of the Rings racists? Better question, does it matter? No, of course not it's not like it's going to be banned for being racist. However it reveals interesting things about the white subconscious mind.
In Lord of the Rings all the main characters are white, but that's not why it's racist. It's racist because it disguises the non-white characters as ghoulish monsters. The Orcs are meant to represent Africans. One scene in The Two Towers even has them attacking the Europeans on giant ridable Hyenas. The Orcs are cannibals, like certain African tribes. The Orcs are birthed fully grown by evil magic. Why? So that there are no Orc women or children. If Gandalf and Aragorn were seen killing Orc women and children this would be upsetting. Since Orcs have no women and were never children the men can commit a care free genocide.
The Elves are a level above the men. They are the white master race. That's why I always hated Legolas's character. He can do anything. He's perfect. He massacres Orcs by fucking dancing! That's what it looks like when Elves fight. It looks like a fucking dance. Supposedly Orcs were once Elves,... yeah right you got black from white? They were "corrupted" and became Orcs.
The Hobbits are meant to represent beta male homos with low testosterone who need to go on dangerous missions with real men to prove themselves.
The Dwarves are meant to represent the Jews. In The Hobbit they got attacked by a (Grand)Dragon for accumulating too much (Jew)gold. They wander without a homeland just like the Jews did until they can defeat the Dragon and reclaim the land(of Israel).
In Return of the King the men are attacked by Asiatic hordes on top of giant mastodon elephants. There are no wild trainable elephants in Europe. This is simply a manifestation of the European paranoia of other races.

Kidding aside, did you watch the movies? By the end, it is the Hobbits who come out the heroes. They even bow in respect and gratitude in Return of the King.

Also the main villain of the (Jews)Dwarves in The Hobbit is a (Neo-Nazi skinhead)White Orc.

John Boyega hates these movies and refuses to watch them. I don't have a problem with lack of diversity. If you don't feel the need to put black people in your movie that's your right. My problem is that they disguise the minorities they don't show with monsters and weirdos. The only reason they didn't do that to the Native Americans,... the Mexicans,... is because Middle Earth(Europe) hadn't discovered America yet. |

It would matter if it were racist, but it is not racist simply because it's a lily white cast.
It's just good to have a diverse cast too.
