I have not seen much of his work, but based on what i have seen him in. I would call him a good actor.

Yes but too many of his roles don't depict it. He keeps playing Matt Damon.
He stole the show in The Departed & that was alongside f'n Jack & Leo.

I think Damon is an excellent actor.
Great in the first two Bourne's.

Yes as he's been in some good movies and like I always say someone needs to land in good movies otherwise they are ultimately forgettable.
1.Good Will Hunting (1997) - 9/10 (Damon's best performance and is also his best movie)
2.True Grit (2010) - 8/10
3.The Departed (2006) - 7/10
4.The Bourne Identity (2002) - 6.5-7/10
basically he's been in four movies I score a 7 or higher which is respectable among names as I can't imagine there are many name (or semi-name) actors who have appeared in 4+ movies I score a 7/10 or higher.
p.s. but I will say the 2nd/3rd Bourne movies get too much praise as they are overrated.
