8/10 Really dig the war film vibe. Although I like The Force Awakens, Rogue One lacks the playing it safe mentality seen in Abrams' film. Plus, the final act on the tropical planet turns into the best level ever of Star Wars: Battlefront and I love it.

Liked: the architecture and detail of the planets, cities and bases, etc. the script is better than A New Hope. Somewhat suspenseful, and kept me invested until the end credits. Disliked: Felicity Jones was stiff as a board and often had a dumb expression on her face. The Cushing and Fisher CGI was unconvincing. I always knew I was looking at animation. way too many good guys died at the end

The visuals and special effects were first-rate. The scene with Vader at the end was by far the most compelling. The rest of the movie was a total waste of time and effort. The problem wasn't just in the writing of these characters, it was in the acting. Fortunately, many of these characters were killed off. I give it a 4/10.

characters sucked. really hurt the rest of the movie. fanservice was insulting. stop it. despite leading up very nearly directly into the opening shot of a New Hope the connection is a bit clumsy.
good cinematography and overall tone. nice to see some familiar alien species. TFA'd made me wonder a bit. people give Uncanny Peter Cushing shit but i think he looked great and represented a notable marker in the evolution of the tech. for whatever reason Carrie's looked halfassed in comparison.
i didn't think the backdoor element of the Death Star design was necessary.
i give it 7/10

Third best Star Wars movie, behind The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars.

Loved it, probably my favorite Star Wars movie. And I grew up with the OT.

6.5/10 Average movie with a killer final 1/2 hour. It was perhaps the most beautifully shot movie of the entire saga, and did have a more war-like feel to it than any of the others. But I really didn't find any of the characters compelling enough to care about their fates, and CGI Tarkin and Leia were abominations, as @nxnwrocks already stated.
I will admit though that I've found every movie since Empire disappointing, so I'm probably not the best one to critique any of them at this point.

Decent movie, poorly written characters, didn't really dovetail into ANH as well as it should have.
I thought it suffered from all the unnecessary fan service.
Ballsy to kill everyone off at the end, though. I like that it took that chance.
Overall maybe a 6.5/10.

It's a lot of fun and I like the darker tone of it. It also has the best action scene of the entire franchise and great cgi.
Both this and TFA are basically fan service but Rogue One does it much better imo.

I was let down a bit by "The Force Awakens." I didn't mind the protagonists, but Kylo Ren just didn't do anything for me. Still, none of the characters were very memorable and I got tired of this focus on the force. I could buy it with the original trilogy and even in the prequels, but without Luke (though he makes an appearance), Obi-Wan, Yoda, the Emperor...I don't know, the force just didn't seem as real.
"Rogue One" however, I thought was great. It suffered from vague characters (with the exception of Ben Mendelsohn's white-caped villain, who's terrific). In spite of that, it was a lot of the things I was hoping TFA would be, though TFA suffered from a lot of underdeveloped characters as well...seems hard to make a "Star Wars" movie on par with the originals. The originals had a huge universe, groundbreaking (for the time) visuals, but great characters (even if their dialogue was a bit funny at times). The new ones don't do this so well.
I'd give like one and a half thumbs up to "Rogue One." They did some great things with the space battles, and even just seeing the Star Destroyer hovering over the desert town in the daylight was awesome. I liked getting a break from the Jedi element and focusing more on the war and other things happening in this universe. The darker tone was great, and when our friend in black shows up (don't want to spoil it)...holy crap!
I will say I missed John Williams' themes and the traditional story crawl, but I can move past that. Thought it was a really good movie overall.

I thought it was quite good and probably the best film after the original 4, 5, and 6. Force Awakens takes the next spot after Rogue One.
I too used to dream about what it would look like to have a Star Destroyer in atmosphere, so that was a really cool touch.
One thing I was curious about though was that I always thought AT-ATs were new technology in Empire Strikes Back the way the Rebel forces seem sadly ill equipped to deal with them on Hoth. It's almost like the Rebels were not sure how to face them. Remember the guys flying the Snowspeeders seem to go after them with blasters until Luke realizes "their armor is too strong for blasters." Why such a surprise if they were dealt with on this tropical planet in Rogue One?

I think it's just okay. The film looks amazing. Has some great action. But it's weak elements I feel are plot and character.

- awkwardly paced, mostly dull, not really an interesting story, characters that doesn't fit the story without any real depth
+ vader, squadron fighting, CG and scope is top notch
4/10

It suffered from vague characters (with the exception of Ben Mendelsohn's white-caped villain, who's terrific). I spent half the movie thinking that was Ed Helms.
