Even though they’re cartoonists. Isn’t that ironic? Granted, the South Park movie was made before Best Animated Feature was a thing and Ted isn’t an animated film but still.

Trey Parker is a comedic genius and is also great at making funny songs. Loved "Blame Canada" and imo should have won over whatever Phil Collins song won that year. btw Trey Parker & Matt Stone still haven't been invited back to the Oscars since showing up in dresses while high on acid that one year haha.  |

also it'd be really cool if Trey made The Book of Mormon into a film. I saw the play in Hollywood some years back and it was flat out hilarious .

"Blame Canada" was actually the superior and wittier composition.

They lost a nom to a forgotten penguin movie. They did get a nom for short, though, but Groening wasn’t nominated. |
