Great movie! Very original, but do you know anything similar? ? Thanks! Not really, however if you're not already familiar, I would recommend the films Teshigahara directed either side of it, Pitfall [1962] and The Face of Another [1966]. Both tackle some similiar themes like lonliness and identity. They are also very similar in mood and style, both have that same sense of unease, other-worldliness and weird dread. I actually had "The Face of Another" on my DVR, but it read like a horror... I'll check this out, and the others you 've mentioned - thanks!

This is one of the great movies in any genre! You sure have seen a lot of foreign films, mortsahlfan! "Le Trou" was so good. Yes, I try to watch movies from as many countries as possible, every decade....
Speaking of French prison/isolation movies, "A Man Escaped" is great, but then again, every Bresson movie I have seen has been good or great. The only one of his I haven't seen was his first one.
