Just finished cooking this on the stove. It's a chopped-up medium head of red cabbage with a diced-up green apple, cooked on low heat with a hunk of butter, a little salt and sugar, and a sprinkle or two of water. Cooked for about 1 3/4 hours. The apple pretty much turned to applesauce and got all blended in with the cabbage. It smells terrific... now I wish I'd cooked a small pork roast to have it with.
