Rewatching the tail end of season 3 of Angel and the best I can conclude about Quor'toth is that it's one of those places that's actually a very nice place, and people who've been there only spread the word that it's the darkest of the dark hell dimensions so people don't flock there and ruin it. You know, the way Erik the Red supposedly chose the names of Iceland and Greenland. Otherwise, it makes not sense that either Connor or Holtz for that matter would have survived very long there. Holtz was a skilled fighter, and apparently easily adaptable to strange changes to his environment, like jump 200 years into the future without blinking. Yet he's still human with no apparent special skills that should have allowed him to hold out for the better part of two decades; especially once he began to feel the ravages of old age. It seems doubtful the old man who emerged from Quor'toth should have been able to survive in the sort of dimension Sahjhan described, and arguably should have been unfit to survive there for several years, by the looks of him.
Then there's Connor, who admittedly has some advantage with his genetic disposition towards strength, stamina and coordination, but he entered that dimension at only a few months old; where the fuck did Holtz find the proper food to feed a baby in a hell dimension like Quor'toth, let alone raise him to a point where Connor ("Steven") could become self-sufficient? One would assume that even with his superhuman prowess he would have to be several years old before he could be expected to believably survive any serious battles without significant injury.
And for that matter, why the hell doesn't Connor have an accent, when the only person he'd have had to learn the language from is English?

Connor's speech patterns are notable too. It's a little nitpicky, but I noted this time around, when watching "Benediction," how when Connor enters the hotel and Angel says, "Hey," Connor replies, "Hey". Later, when Angel gets called away on account of a vision and tries to explain, Connor replies, "whatever". This would be conventional, modern dialog, except for the fact Holtz surely wouldn't speak that way in order for Connor to pick-up on it and incorporate it into his way of speaking.

I didn't even think about this, but I think you are right to an extnt. What you say makes sense and I wish we got more information about Quor'toth.
My only problem with this is why would Sahijhan open the portal and lie about the hell dimension if his whole motivation was to kill Conner? Why would he be ok with Holtz jumping in if it was as "nice" a place as you described? Since he seemed ok with Conner in Quor'toth as a way to get rid of or kill Conner since Conner was a direct threat to Sahijhan would it really not be a hell dimension? You raise some great points and I even think you are right to an extent, but Sahijhan's reaction doesn't make sense to me with your theory. But of course I am open to explanations, lol. It could be that it is somewhere in the middle of hell dimension and a "nice" dimension...not sure what that would be though.

Probably because sending him there when no one he had on hnd after centuries of manipulation was willing to kill Connor so he sent him to a near unreachable world, if you recall there are no portals to Quor'toth only way is to rip a hole in reality, also the time difference Conoor grew what 18 years in a couple of months, the likelihood of Angel finding a way to get access to Quor'toth so soon was probably inconceivable to Sahjahn, had it taken Angel a year to do so Connor would be over 100 by the time he could get to him and likely dead due to old age.

I was slightly being factious about Quor'toth not being that bad; although I want to say, maybe on the Buffy wikia or somewhere online, I saw a rednering or artist concept of what Quor'toth was supposed to look like; which wasn't nearly as barren and hellish as I would expect, based on the description. I still find it a highly unlikely place to a human infant to be raised for any length of time without child dying from some combination of the environment and lack of proper nutrition; no matter how hardy the stock. Never mind a middle aged man surviving into his senior years.
