He didn't exit the show. It was all just another dumpster-dive fake-out; not three minutes after it ended, Gimple was on tv saying Rick's story would continue via a series of TWD movies.

Rick occasionally would look like he cleaned up and showered, I still have yet to see Daryl look clean...well not since the beginning anyway. |

I wanted to like it, but I can’t help but feel a bit cheated on. It could’ve been worse, but they should’ve done something more effective. Also, the fact that the group are oblivious to Rick’s survival and now years have passed and they’ve moved on? Get outta here.

The way they did it was so-so. I'm just glad he's gone. No offense to RG. He was great but it was time for a change and the show became better without him. Same to a lesser extent for the widow what's her name.
