I'm looking forward to Gunn's sequel. Huge fan of his ever since I watched the movie Slither.

Okay, I think you're taking the merchandise driven aspects of the franchise a bit too seriously. Is BB8's function as a character a bit cynical and manipulative? Yes, but it's hardly worse than the ewoks in that regard. At least it isn't a minion... BB8 was created for the sake of creating a new character without any organic narrative need solely to sell toys. Just like TFA was created for the sake of creating a new Star Wars movie without any preexisting narrative impetus solely to sell tickets.
The former is just a tasteless cash-grab, and a redundant one to boot when we've already got the iconic R2D2 character available; however, because the latter was a completely offensive, disgusting cash-grab predicated on retconning essentially all of Return of the Jedi out of existence and more or less executing a potboiler rewrite of Star Wars it taints the little shit-ball by association pretty badly. And the character was fucking obnoxious. I would've been fine if it would just disappeared arbitrarily at any point in the film, along with Rey and Kylo, two of the most insipid and pathetic pieces of shit I've ever been forced to endure in any film. So in other words, you're PO'ed that they bothered introducing new characters for the new saga.
You must really hate Star Trek TNG, since it wasn't about Kirk and co.

I do think Guardians will make more than JL, there's much love for the first one, it's actually in my top 3 MCU movies up there with Avengers 1 and Winter Soldier. However, I hope that JL does well also, I liked BVS, not really liked MOS and hated SS. In competition with other CBM's this year JL will probably do better than Thor, WW and possibly Spiderman(not too sure about that) That's interesting, what about BvS made you feel it was a better film than MoS?

At first i loved MOS and couldn't wait to own it on blu-ray, but eventually i got to like it less and less to the point of not being able to watch it now(i saw it 3 times at least). The last hour of action is too tiresome and it goes on forever. Then i saw BVS in the theater and i was underwhelmed. Enter the Director's cut on Blu-ray and i gave it another go and i was really entertained for the whole movie. It helps that i already knew its flaws but for me it's simply more entertaining. What makes it better than MOS for me? Batfleck(and that's something considering i never liked Affleck as an actor), the cinematography, the music and WW. It's obvious that both movies have flaws, i just prefer BVS. Suicide Squad however i can never watch again sadly

That's why talking about movies is nice: everybody experience it differently. As long as this forum remains as trolls free as possible we're good
