What do you think the movie would have been like if he directed it?
I think that since it's already such a terrible film to begin with that even he couldn't have made it worse. Obviously for him to have been involved it would have had to be a much bigger budgeted production, and it might have actually had a major release and made money, leading to sequels that weren't direct-to-video. It might have slightly altered the trajectory of "epic" fantasy on film over the last 15 years. But probably not for the better.
