Some people say that Jack is looking at the camera here deliberately to be scary to the audience. Other people say he's looking at Danny's room, which just happens to be in the same direction as the camera, and is not necessarily trying to be deliberately scary or that he's looking at Danny's room with some anger after being angry with Wendy. So which is it to you?

I'll have to watch the scene again. Difficult to judge on a screenshot.

I probably should have GIF'd it, but I figured we've all seen the movie so many times and are familiar with this scene in the film enough that you should know what I'm talking about. I may GIF it later if there is a demand for it or unless someone else does it. It is so fucking typical of you to create a problem like this when i have a chance to accomplish something! When I am really into my work! I couldn't do much if I went back to IMDb now, could I?! Voting down movies! post on non-existent message boards! Does that appeal to you?!

Some people say that Jack is looking at the camera here deliberately to be scary to the audience.
^I would say there is no chance that he is purposely "breaking the fourth wall" since that would be "hacky" and unprofessional. "The Shining" was made by Kubrik, not Rob Zombie, after all.

Are they looking ahead in the direction of the audience or are they purposely breaking the fourth wall like Zack from Saved By the Bell? I say they're looking in the direction of the audience.

ck100I don't see any particular "looking at the camera" in this scene .. he just runs past it on his way to the door is all I can detect.
Also don't see any Fourth walls being smashed in the other shot from The Shining. Just full face closeup of Jack bein' Jack.
