For example:
Scarface and The History Channel. What does Scarface have to do with history? I mean I know it takes place during the early 80's with Castro and the Cuban immigrants coming to America, but that's not what the movie is exactly about. It's not what you'd call a historical documentary film.
I've also seen The Terminator air on Country Music Television (CMT). No idea what The Terminator has to do with Country Music. You don't see Arnold doing the two-step at Tech-Noir.
I've also seen Point Break air on The Golf Channel one night. Yes, I'm serious. No idea what Point Break has to do with golf since you don't see Johnny Utah practicing his sand game on the beach at any time during the film.
One of the strangest ones I remember people talking about is Goodfellas airing on The Lifetime Network which is a network predominantly aimed at women. Goodfellas isn't exactly a film aimed at women.

Curse of Chucky and Cult of Chucky on AMC.
They’re newer movies, so I don’t get why they had them playing on FearFest. Usually, the movies have to be at least 10 years old.

" SHOWGIRLS" on VH1. " CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND" on The Disney Channel. Are you serious about Close Encounters on the Disney channel? Lol. That strikes me as funny for some reason.

The Room on Cartoon Network. I've heard about this and that it's been done as a gag.

The Ten Commandments shown during the Christmas Season when anything even remotely "religious" seems to be showable.

Batman Begins on AMC Family
I like how they tried to make it more family oriented.

One time on PBS they aired the film Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things, which is a horror film and has some kinda gruesome parts. I don't know how or why that happened but it did.

Is there any history on History Channel anymore? Isn't it all reality shows about homeless people in the woods or whatever?

LOL, Yep! I actually recorded it on VHS (this was back in the late 90's) when they showed it. It was actually even the version where you see Richard Dreyfuss inside of the GIANT Spaceship. SERIOUSLY!

Back in the day, The Disney Channel would show serious films after 8. In its first decade, it was Hollywood classics (I do know they broadcast BEN-HUR in December 1993; never saw the broadcast though). My first viewings of PLANET OF THE APES, BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES, and ESCAPE FROM THE PLANET OF THE APES came from the Disney Channel (they even did a Halloween marathon with the first two films with FRANKENWEENIE- The Tim Burton original- GODZILLA RISES AGAIN, and a Family-oriented BIGFOOT with Candice Cameron. Yikes!). The Holocaust was also a subject. A FRIENDSHIP IN VIENNA premiered on the channel, as well as the docu ANNE FRANK REMEMBERED (June 1992 broadcast the 1980 DIARY OF ANNE FRANK and THE ATTIC: THE HIDING OF ANNE FRANK).
AUSTIN POWERS: INTERNATIONAL MAN OF MYSTERY on TCM in 2003 (as part of Spy spoofs; that caused a big stir, some feared this was a warning that Adam Sandler films would be next).

"Showgirls" on VH1. Even overlooking the fact that it has nothing to do with music (they gave up on that business model a while ago anyways) it was heavily censored, pretty ruining what little merrit the film had to begin with.
