I watched most of this for the first time last night. Just a really terrible waste of time of a movie. Nothing but just violence and a huge waste of time of a really stupid idea for a movie. It's the most recent worst movie I've seen. There is no point at all to it.

Obvious troll is obvious.
It's one of the best Westerns ever made, and undeniably the only decent film made by Sam Raimi. It's incredible that such a classic came from this hack who directed only the worst movies ever, aside from this one.
What's amazing is how it succeeds where spaghetti Westerns fail.
First of all, the characters are incredibly vivid and credible, something that can't be said for the ignorant garbage that hacks like Leone came up with. You have to admit that, if you're honest.
It also is the definitive "Christian Western allegory". Hackman plays Satan. Even his name has a Satanic biblical ring to it.
The heroine wants to destroy the Devil. Along the way she runs into those who are slaves to Satan. Were some of these men the same in the gang that did her the great injustice? Probably. She even identifies one by his name "Scar", indicating that he was one of the original gang led by Hackman's character of Herod.
Along the way, she sees that the Devil gives no brownie points to his followers. They deteriorate and decay in flesh, and become his victims. He murders one right out, and uses his stewardship to demand the murder of another of his loyal following.
Our heroine sees this along the way, and even pities the hoodlum underling she hates the most. Not a lot of pity, but some pity. She begins to get lost in the flesh in her desire to kill this one underling she hates, till she sees the Devil Herod wants this man sent to Hell, and she relents. She focuses again on the principality.
A perfect allegory to Christianity.
10/10

Well, I was really bummed to see Lance Henriksen and Keith David get killed so soon since I like those actors. Especially David and the shot to the head was shocking and too much. If they are going to give us that much violence at least give us one of Sharon's bare nipples.

They are just our personal opinions. Since you like this movie so much, it explains why you wrongly claim I am trolling. If I also liked this movie and knew that you did to and posted the OP as it is, then that would be trolling. If you still disagree then you need to look up and get a better understanding of what an internet troll does. I'm under the impression that the Raimi directed Evil Dead movies are more popular and could be considered as cult classics while this is just forgettable garbage.

It has its moments. Raimi's direction is energetic and Hackman's having a ball. The who's who of character actors from that period (1995) is fun to watch. But Sharon Stone is such a bore. She ought to have played it more like a slinky femme fatale instead of a stoic 'Woman with No Name' w/o a personality.

a classic reply.. coming from someone who wouldn't know a good movie from his rear end, and regularly disses decent movies like a spiteful troll.
Anyway, I like the quick and the dead. Not to be taken too seriously. 6/10

It's a fun movie, definitely "style over substance", not to be taken seriously. It's no Shane or Red River. 6/10

It's not "Unforgiven" or "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford"
But it's pure entertainment. Gene Hackman is a legend.

A never got around to seeing movie for me. It's a Sam Raimi movie so I have to give it a look at some point. The supporting cast of Keith David, Roberts Blossom, Lance Henriksen, Woody Strode, Mark Boone Junior, Tobin Bell makes it look at least giving it a look.

You can't beat that cast, Hackman is just as dastardly devilish as he was in Unforgiven.
