Yes, I thought it was great fun. Rosamund Pike is not a warm or charismatic actress, so of course she was the perfect 'Amazing Amy', Ben Affleck gives one of his rare good performances and Carrie Coon is awesome. Classy trash.

Over time, I've more or less accepted the ending, which proves that Nick and Amy deserve each other and share in their misery.
A 9/10 for me.

Yeah, twas a delightfully twisted thriller. Having Fincher direct it made it seem like the perfect throwback to those 1990s mystery thrillers.

Classy trash. ^THIS^ Except the part about Rosamund not being warm or charismatic. I've seen her in a few things in which she was. But that's besides the point...
I think the problem that people had with the movie is not in the movie itself, but rather the story. It ends so... unusually. I remember folks had that problem with the novel too.
Basically, the bad guy wins, and what she wins is something the majority of us wouldn't want and cant understand. What we have to remember is that the bitch is crazy and neither the bad guy or the "good" guy are particularly "good" people. It's almost anti-climactic, but that's also what makes it so insidious.
The scene where Rosamund kills Doogie Howser is bravura filmmaking by Fincher.

I thought it was. It has a low key chilling ending that I really like. Most people don't have time for the little things that make people tick, but David Fincher does.

I have not seen it but given the directors (David Fincher) rep with me I would not be surprised if it's forgettable overall. hence, Thumbs Down.
p.s. David Fincher directed 10 movies. I have seen pretty much 9 of them (all besides the one in this topic) and all but two (i.e. Panic Room(7/10)/The Game(6/10)) are forgettable.

Along with vits... your tastes in film is bad on an epic scale.

It's a really good film. Not to get too political but with #MeToo movement and with Kavanaugh it's relevant for discussion along those lines.

Not very. I did manage to get all the way through it, but then, I don't give up easily. Neil Patrick Harris sure went against type. I had to laugh at the resolution of his character arc. I liked that part of it.

Yes, I think it's a near perfect thriller and is brilliantly acted and directed. It's become a stable of my Halloween season marathons when I need to get away from the zombies and slashers and watch something that's just unnerving.
