IMO its Lion King there weren't any humans in the original 90s version so exactly how is a live adaptation going to work?

Technically it’s still animated but it’s cgi. I’d probably say Alita: Battle Angel. Rodriguez hasn’t had a real hit in years and it may be too out-there for audiences.

The animators are using photorealistic CGI and motion capture performances from the actors to create the characters for The Lion King remake. That said, I think it's a guaranteed hit.
For now, the biggest potential box office risk is Alita: Battle Angel.

Just like the 2017 Beauty & the Beast live action remake , The Lion King film will easily hit over a billion at the box office imo . Should definitely be a huge success for Disney .
I'll agree with the other posters about Alita: Battle Angel . Its budget is flat out HUGE ($200 million) and looks like a very risky project . I'd be much more confident if James Cameron directed it instead of Rodriguez. (I know James Cameron is backing it as a producer but still its not the same ) The studio better hope like hell that its a hit in China which wouldn't surprise me if it is . Just hope its good!

The Lion King remake just like the life-action Beauty and the Beast will most likely end up being utterly mediocre and unnecessary, but audiences will flock to see it anyway.

Alita looks quite good, but I've no desire to watch any of them.
