Who are some actors/actresses who you used to like but wish would disappear for a while?
Who are some stars who started off as exciting talents but burned out and lost their audience’s good will? This is due to bad career choices/performances and/or bad publicity/scandals.

STFU dumbass. Shia LaBeouf was an amazing actor before he became a weirdo. Anyways how can he outstay his welcome if he barely even makes movies any more? Or good ones at least. Fury was his last good one AFAIK.

I'll throw out Jamie Kennedy. Most people loved him as Randy in Scream, his shows and movies were divisive, then Son of the Mask killed any good will he had.

John Travolta Kevin Hart Nic Cage Ed Norton ...to be fair & to his credit, going from Fight Club & American History X to a Wes Anderson regular is a nice landing zone, albeit off the mainstream Hollywood lane.

Here are some actors who use to be interesting and very talented who seem to accept every role that is offered to them and often look bored while acting in most of the movies they star in now.
Samuel L. Jackson Morgan Freeman Robert DeNiro Michael Caine

How did Edward Norton wear out his welcome for you? I just find that odd, because if anything I think he has been underutilized since 2003. He stopped getting good roles because directors don't want to work with him.

Geez. Fuckin' Eric Roberts, who is still serviceable as an actor.

Nicholas Cage Liam Neeson Harrison Ford They need to retire already and Hollywood needs to stop putting them in action films like they are still in their twenties. and whats-her-name...the one that always looks like she's sucking on lemons - from Bridget Jones' Diary.

For me currently it's
Tom Cruise & Leonardo Di Caprio - both good within their scope but got really annoying and redundant.
Robert Downy Junior & Jonny Depp - two of teh greatest actor/performer talents of their gen that became typecast mail-it-in parodies.

Geez. Fuckin' Eric Roberts, who is still serviceable as an actor. Good call. I love the guy, but he's been in some real stinkers in the last few years (though still in his share of good ones). I almost choked when he showed up in "The Human Centipede 3." I know, I know, it was never going to be that good of a movie anyway, but Roberts showing up was really out of the blue.

Interesting topic.
I have to second Shia LeBeouf. He's a pretty solid actor ("Disturbia" was his greatest for me), but for a while he was everywhere. I think "Indy 4" wasn't particularly kind to him. A fine actor, but seemed way out of place in that movie. Could just have been how his character was written, but he seemed to be laughing at grumpy old Indy...who's such a beloved curmudgeon, nobody really wanted to see that...
Seemed like Vin Diesel was everywhere for a while. I think he's underrated if anything. Maybe he's got range, but mostly he's the brooding bald guy in a wifebeater who's about to growl something (dude's got a killer voice) and beat the crap out of someone with a lead pipe.
Michael Cera. Big "Arrested Development" fan, and love Cera's character. He had a couple of great movies with "Scott Pilgrim" and "Superbad," but seemed to drift off into indie-world for a while. Which was a good move I think. Allowed him to distance himself from being typecast. Ironically, I would have thought this would have been more likely to happen to Jonah Hill after "Superbad"...but holy crap has that guy proven me wrong. His series on Netflix "Maniac" is awesome.
Jack Black came close to oversaturation. I think he was versatile enough to avoid it, but it got close there for a minute. I think his best work is ahead of him. Was cool to see him in a less overtly comedic role in "King Kong."
And sadly, I think this happened to Adam Sandler. "Billy Madison", "Happy Gilmore", and "The Wedding Singer" are works of art. The clown's musical verse is the ringtone on my phone. Plus, he was a huge force in comedy with his albums. He was like the last one to ride the Jerky Boys model before the internet/file-sharing became mainstream. He's doing some interesting stuff on Netflix that's worth checking out.
