Just seen The Meg. It looked like a basic cheesy B shark movie and thats pretty much what it is. However it was entertaining and a fun enough for a watch. Is no Jaws though.
6/10
Thoughts?

It is the most boring movie of the year imo, and it's a very ugly looking movie from a visual standpoint. The characters are beyond uninteresting. I usually like Jason Statham, but even he is phoning it in here.
Yes, the movie is just suppose to be dumb fun, but I think it is the exact opposite of fun. It's certainly dumb though.
3/10
Deep Blue Sea does the same thing, but actually manages to be fun.

In Deep Blue Sea I actually like the characters and am rooting for most of them to live.

Yet you gave "Chinatown" the same rating.

...the special effects sucked. A waste of Jason Stathan's talent...

Yet you gave "Chinatown" the same rating. Obviously for different reasons.

Yet you gave "Chinatown" the same rating. Who cares? Obviously those who have good taste in films (which you certainly lack as well).

God, this movie was terrible and ranks as one of the most boring big-budget movies I've ever seen.
For a film about a 50+foot killer shark, the majority of the film involves....deep sea explorations and boring exposition between characters aboard a science station? The shark never feels like a threat because we never see the surrounding ocean as being decimated by a creature emerging from the unknown depths and it barely kills anyone! Even in the final sequence where it comes ashore, it barely attacks anybody. I've never seen a film misuse a movie monster so badly.

Yet you gave "Chinatown" the same rating. He also gave this 4 points more than the original Dawn of the Dead.

Just a wild guess but as long as you claim to be a "serious" film aficionado yet give high ratings to garbage made in the last few years while shitting on undisputed masterpieces. That's how long.
