I'm gonna randomly open it and pick a movie. Tell me if you've seen this film. This is what it says.
My Brilliant Career (1979)
A willful young woman chooses education and adventure over love and domesticity and finds a way to thrive in turn-of-the-century Australia.
A visual treat with a heroic central performance by Judy Davis.
Also stars Sam Neill.

There was a new generation of Australian movies in the mid to late 1970s that were to achieve international recognition, of which this is one. If you like charmed period romantic film, it shouldn't be missed.

I first saw this film many years ago, and I rewatched it last year. Great performance by Judy Davis. The ending however was a letdown for me because she chose her career over her relationship.

I need to watch this again. Davis’ much-heralded breakout performance is quite beautiful, but I found the film rather dry and humourless. Perhaps I missed something.
