Pretty cool that it's going to be a direct sequel to the original with the same house and Mark Holton returning. I'm pretty sure all the other sequels featured a different leprechaun except for maybe the two "Hood" films. Looks like it's going to be way better than Origins too, but I wish Warwick Davis was returning. The new guy is okay but Warwick really made the part his own and clearly had a lot of fun with the role, which was quite infectious.

Yeah it is interesting to see it do what Halloween ‘18 basically did, directly follow the original. And the new guy is much closer to Davis’ portrayal than that Descent knockoff we got in Origins.
I don’t get though how every film has a different leprechaun? Yeah he has different weaknesses in each film, but is that really enough to warrant a new character? For all we know, he could come back to life every time, like any other ordinary iconic horror villain.

Well I don't know that it's a different one for sure, but the films don't seem to follow any strict continuity. I think the Leprechaun says he was 600 or something in the first film and then like 2,000 in the second. Plus, none of the movies explain how he came back each time. In Part 3 he began as a statue despite being blown up in the last film, which makes no sense. Sure, you could say we missed what happened in between films, but it's strange how every single movie pretty much ignores how the last one ended. The makeup changed a lot in a few of the films too. But, who knows?

Well I don't know that it's a different one for sure, but the films don't seem to follow any strict continuity. I think the Leprechaun says he was 200 or something in the first film and then like 1,000 in the second. That was a big issue with the series IMO. The continuity is all over the place. Not only does each movie disregard the last one with the way Lep died, but they don’t bother to even explain that it’s a different leprechaun in their own movie.

So now that Halloween did it we can look forward to 5,000 remakes all direct sequels to the original.

Man, the first two were classics. I was shocked by the reception from the critics. I know they're not anything groundbreaking and are pretty dumb in hindsight, but critics even hated Davis's performance. Davis's performance is what made these films!

I'm surprised Warwick isn't coming back either. He's only in his late 40's. Not sure if he has any health issues or the pay wasn't enough. Thought I read he would love to come back.
