I've had that happen
3 worst days to grocery shop
Saturday and sunday - weekend crowds
Friday afternoon - crowded by people who think they can beat the weekend crowds

Yeah, I hate the grocery store craziness this time of year. I try to get everything buttoned up by a couple days before Thanksgiving. I guess some people actually wait until Wednesday to buy their turkey. lol

I've had that happen 3 worst days to grocery shop Saturday and sunday - weekend crowds Friday afternoon - crowded by people who think they can beat the weekend crowds I like to shop very early on Saturday ... 6:00 - 6:30. There are no shopping crowds at that time. However, there are a few employees stocking the shelves, and you have to maneuver around them. Last Saturday, I kind of thought ahead about what I'd need early this week. I don't have to shop for a whole Thanksgiving dinner, as I'm going to a friend's house. I'll buy my "contribution" of sweet potatoes tomorrow at an indy produce store. I might buy a very small turkey after Thursday, for sandwiches and soup, which I'll miss.

Was weird. Costco was packed (4 pm). Long returns line, too. Trader Joe's (a bit later) was fairly empty. Parking lot spaces open, etc.

I went to my local supermarket to get a Thanksgiving "apple pie in a brown paper bag" from Wisconsin on Monday, 11/19. There were 2 other customers looking for the same item. The young ladies behind the pastry counter had no idea what we were after. I, and the other customers mentioned that we had bought that product every year before the TG holiday.
We summoned the manager. He understood exactly what we wanted. About 10 minutes later, the manager produced a cart filled with these delicious and expensive apple pies. Heated along with French vanilla ice cream is a to die for dessert at the end of the TG meal...

The trucks have already come in, so if something is not on the shelf-I ask. Or the boxes are in the aisles & I open them & take what I need. Absolutely no waiting. Having to wind myself down aisles, where people like to park their cart on one side, while looking at the other side(and getting pissed when you politely say excuse me could I pass?)--or hearing people on their phones, pretty much yelling because it's loud in the store-not for me.
