Those are good ones. But during the 80's video store boom there was no champ over The Road Warrior (Mad Max 2)! The post apocalypse, driving a car in the desert, movies were a dime a dozen and they were ALL awful. Though some were fun.
Also killing teens in a camp setting movies were big too.

Silence of the Lambs inspired Copycat (1995) I do believe. I feel like it helped spawn Se7en, Just Cause and Kiss the Girls as well.
