favorite - the go-between (1971-uk). Piano based score from Michel Legrand (who is still composing).
Lalo Schifrin - very cool scores for both dirty harry and THX-1138.

Best use of existing music - Gustav Mahler symphonies for Visconti's death in venice. Awesome. (Apparently the reason why Dirk Borgarde agreed to do the movie.)
