Best show currently airing. Nothing comes close. Let's not go crazy, but I am loving season 3 so far. I am only three episodes in. This show surprises me every year. The acting is just so so and it always has a cheap aesthetic look to it, but when it starts you immediately get hooked. I love the show, but Narcos, Stranger Things, Westworld, Game of Thrones at least are all better.

There is a season 3? Excellent news! I wasn't sure there was going to be one.

Of the shows you listed narcos is the only one currently airing and it sucks... at least compared to the original.

It already aired. The season is over. It is currently airing as much as Stranger Things, House of Cards, or Narcos are currently airing.

I can't argue with retardation. You win.

Given that I watched all ten episodes in two nights, I clearly didn't hate it; but I must say that I did find it palpably inferior to the first two series. And as a fan of the books, I found the use of various storylines and characters from them in a jumbled and slapdash manner rather frustrating; particularly compared to the previous series which paid them much more respect. I think I'd have preferred them to invent entirely new storylines. Still, I enjoyed it somewhat, and will doubtless watch it again. Perhaps my expectations were just too high. I will never understand why they are adapting two books per season instead of adapting one book per season. Still I'll take any Bernard Cornwell adaptation I can get. If only they would make The Warlord Chronicles into a tv show...

In case you need it more spelled out for you, these shows are still on and the finale has yet to air. They are week to week. Technically, a streaming show is sent out all at once and is never currently airing. Also, Narcos is a better show.

If only they would make The Warlord Chronicles into a tv show... I can understand it up to a point, we're now up to book eleven of an ongoing series, and I suspect that few tv companies would be prepared to commit to doing them all, so two per series makes sense in both economics and timescale, I guess. I would get seriously overexcited if the Arthur books were adapted, I could barely contain myself! Eleven, really? I just looked up on my spreadsheet - I read the first five in the space of two months back in 2011 and then stopped. I own #6 through #9 already, so I don't know what I am waiting for.
Bernard Cornwell is a quite prolific author, isn't he? George R R Martin should subcontract the writing of the two remaining Game of Thrones books to him.

Best show currently airing. Nothing comes close. I loved the first two seasons, and though I am only on episode 5 of S3, I'm not liking it at as much. Yes, it draws you in, but some of the plot doesn't make much sense. For instance, why would Aethelwold choose to go to the Danes rather than wait for Alfred to die and then take the throne? It makes no sense to me because he isn't stupid, and he must know the Danes cannot be trusted. He had already achieved what he wanted - getting rid of Uhtred, so taking the throne of Wessex after Alfred died would have been easy, especially since he already had made a deal with the King of Mercia. Then Uhtred's choices also make no sense. Switching from Saxons to Danes back to Saxons. Up until that point Uhtred hadn't seemed to be someone that switches sides so easily, especially if you factor in that Brida had told him she would find a stronger Seer to undo her curse, if he proved to be true to them. So many things didn't quite make sense to me this season.

He wants a United England. He is on both sides because he has ties to the Danes and the Saxons. I think that Alfred gave him little choice but to run, but his heart was never really in it. He had no desire to fight and kill the people he had grown to care for on either side.
