Been really enjoying this AMC series so far. I'm not sure if it's over now or not, the last episode I saw was about ghosts. But the true burning question is this: When will Eli Roth, Rob Zombie and Greg Nicotero finally dive into that fruit plate that's been on the table in front of them since the first episode?

Iβve been wanting to watch this, but sadly it comes on late at night, which means I donβt have the time to watch it. I wonder if itβll be released on DVD.

I've enjoyed it as well. They do miss or skim over some movies but it's understandable in an hour show. I enjoy that so many of the directors and so many even non horror actors are such big fans of the genre.

I've been watching it too, and yes it's quite good. Lots of interesting guests giving some great feedback and commentary on the horror genre. It was kinda cool having Slash declaring The Omen as his favorite horror movie.

I've enjoyed it as well. It's a pretty good basic overview for the time allotted. They can't go especially in depth, but the format of takin one sub genre per episode and highlighting a few key films over time is a pretty good approach. And he has good speakers on for the most part, even if it's often just someone related to a given film in a minor way.
Eli Roth is kind of a douche sometimes, and never nirenryan when he talks about his own films and their place in history within his own show on the history of horror. Not that he was wrong about it, but it just highlights his arrogance.
It was a good watch though. I would have liked for it to go on a bit longer actually. The last episode was really just a slightly extended interview with Quentin Tarantino on The Exorcist and then some other brief topics like Get Out and the technical difficulties of getting blood to look and act exactly how you want. Again, I would have watched more of this.
It would have been nice to have a final conclusion episode too, I thought. Instead of just the last episode just being another topic, I thought one last entry dealing with a rough overall history of horror films and perhaps where all these people see the genre going now and in the near future would have been a great way to wrap it up.
But I too wondered about that fruit plate.
The fact that those three were at a round table and nobody else was seemed to so awkward.

It was good. I hope there is more of it. There were some great horror movies that never got a mention or they just glossed over them.

I enjoyed much more than the James Cameron/Scifi series.
I think they should have been a little more specific for each episode leaving it open for a second series - a separate episode for werewolves instead of including it the "monsters" episode for instance. There was some nice clips and insight, and some decent talking heads as well. Of course they had limited time and limited episodes so it was never going to be in depth, but as I recall they missed, or skimmed over, some important films and directors - Alien, Argento, Cronenberg, Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, for example. And whilst they did give a little time to J-Horror and Let The Right One in, it was generally a very American "history"
For a history of the genre I found the BBC 3 part Mark Gatiss History Of Horror and its Horror Europa companion, far more satisfying depite covering less ground
