So I'm on Netflix and excitedly click on what is labeled Voltron 84. I start what is labeled episode one and immediately become annoyed when some snarky SJW chick who works on Voltron 2016 blathers on about how she liked that Voltron 84 had a female pilot but she was a typical "fainting princess" and the new one is SO much kewler.
She also spoils a lot of the episode before it plays and the episodes are not in the correct order of broadcast. Fuck this, Netflix, just show season 1 of Voltron 84 IN ORDER. Nobody likes Voltron 2016.

That sucks. It is cool that Voltron is on Netflix. It was one of my favorite cartoons. All they need to add is He Man, Transformers, and GI Joe and it would be my after school lineup of the mid 80's.

I loved Transformers, She Ra and He Man. I really hate GI Joe because Snake Eyes was reduced to a supporting character. The Joe comics were better.

I wasn't a big fan of Voltron or Transformers and the SJW stuff sounds really stupid (boo Netflix). He-Man She-Ra and GI Joe were among my favorites.

MASK was on a UHF channel. I had to try to dial it in using that UHF adjuster knob on my tv. It was always snowy looking.

I have this cool fast forward feature on my setup.... Yeah, but it's still annoying to have to skip through the hyping of 2016 faux voltron to get to the real.

The "real" Voltron was just as faux. It was already a bastardized version of Go-Lion.

Well, it is. Deal with it. No American would have ever cared about Golion without Voltron. Deal with that.

Many did. And still do. So you'll just have to deal with that as well.

I watche the new Voltron after hearing so many people fawning over it. It looks like they took the cast from one of the Avatar cartoons, put them in space, made Korra a princess (she looks like a copy and paste knockoff of Korra, just take Korra stick her in a princess outfit, dye her hair and give her a British accent) and gave Pidge a sex change to balance out the male to female ratio on the main cast. Pretty much what you might expect from a cartoon reboot made in the twenty teens to fit in step with the current ideology when it comes to animated programming in the states.
Combine that with what the OP said about them bringing out this snotty SJW before the intro. It sounds like these idiots were sitting around the office on the drawing board and saying "Well, we can't have a stereotypical blonde Princess who reinforces the trope of a damsel who needs saving....how should we repackage her? I know! That Legend Of Korra broke a lot of ground, so let's make the Princess look like her!"
Still, the animation wasn't as ugly as that 2011 version of the cartoon. I think I will stick with Go Lion.
