Check out the album 'Two Yanks In England' to hear the Everly Brothers take on the Hollies (using their collective pseudonym). Elton John played session on tracks by the Hollies in the late 1960s, but does this union stretch as far back as the psychedelic 'Evolution'? New research suggests maybe, but it needs to be verified, if anybody remembers the recording sessions ... these are some of the close-harmony sets cited by members of Jefferson Airplane, Buffalo Springfield, Moby Grape and Grateful Dead as having influenced the entire, changing West Coast sound evolving beneath the California sun ....
'Hard, Hard Year' (with Jimmy Page?)
'Water On The Brain'

I only know a handful of their songs probably because I got my first transistor radio circa 1966. I don't recall hearing their songs much. I never realized they were so influential on those other bands named. And I never knew Jimmy Page played with them. Thanks for your post.

John Paul Jones played sessions with another Manchester band, Herman's Hermits.
