Not really the same thing. Those movies were under strict social media embargoes. Many of the positive responses to Aquaman are from certified Rotten Tomatoes critics.

“Just got out of a test screening for #SuicideSquad. THIS is the movie that shouldve launched the #DCEU. Perfection film making, breathtaking”
Huh?

And those films went on to have successful box offices... one of them winning an Oscar. Yes, I remember.

Dude, it's the same statue and they won it. The fact still remains that in spite of what the critics said about these films, they still delivered in popularity. $747 million nor $874 million are nothing to shake a stick at.
People liked it and to this day, you still see folks cos-playing characters from these films.

Okay, but that's not really an excuse to make a bad movie. They like the characters, doesn't mean they particularly like the movie. You have a shit story but still have cool or interesting characters that people like.

You have a shit story but still have cool or interesting characters that people like. What is and what is not a bad movie is subjective. What is important to a studio is to make a movie that (as many) people (as possible) will go see and they did that. In fact, they are still reaping the benefits from making those films. Just think about it. How can people like something that is bad. The pictures show that people liked these movies.

If BvS and SS were so widely loved by the audiences, why is WB doing their best to do damage control? Reformatting the tone of their movies to make it more similar to MCU movies instead of BvS and SS?

If BvS and SS were so widely loved by the audiences, why is WB doing their best to do damage control? Reformatting the tone of their movies to make it more similar to MCU movies instead of BvS and SS? You're arguing with someone who is asking how people can like something that is bad. I can search the internet for fans of some of the worst movies ever made, that doesn't mean they were successful or popular. This is probably the same type of guy that would tell you Marvel movies suck and BO and critical acclaim prove nothing in their case. But because an idiot dresses up like Leto Joker, it's proof the audience overwhelmingly loved Suicide Squad despite its poor critical and audience ratings. The box office for BvS went of a cliff after its opening weekend and it failed to generate $1B despite having the three most iconic heroes DC has to offer; that's a failure by any metric. "People cosplay as a character from this film, it's obviously great!"

Reformatting the tone of their movies to make it more similar to MCU movies instead of BvS and SS? Who said they were doing damage control? They did a sequel to BvS, which was Justice League (and you never know, there may be a Snyder Cut some day), and there will be a sequel to Suicide Squad. There are even spinoffs to both films in Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman '84, Aquaman, and Birds of Prey. None of this would have happened if those two films were not successful. We would be back to watching Superman and Batman solo films again if they had been.

It hurts me that you feel the need to put “maybe” in front of that sentence.

We won't know until it's released, of course... But the trailers for BvS and SS were garbage. Both were misguided movies from the start and I personally never looked forward to either one. Aquaman on the other hand has great trailers and looks to be the solid origin story movie that Warner Bros should've been making from the start.

WTF are you talking about? You said that ^^ those trailers were crap, but the truth of the matter is that lots of people are on record as saying they were great. You have no credibility.
