Very underserved. NPR is very prestigious so how does a generic plotted movie with bad cgi get such a recognition. its a scam sadly.
Also didn't logan get it last year? wonder woman got for spotlight award? wonder why this is not huge news for BP?. that is what happens when a movie that does not deserve anything is getting it.
we know if black panther had an all white cast and was not hyped by the disney pr machine with THE silly race baiting. it would never have gotten such a recognition.
see..this is what we mean when we say awards can be meaningful and meaningless.
With logan it was meaningful..a good thing for the entire genre.
for black panther it is meaningless.

Without getting too deep into it all, it's nice that Thomasin McKenzie was recognized for her performance in Leave No Trace. I just watched that a few nights ago. It's really good. It might be a bit of a shot in the dark in terms of subject material (father and daughter who voluntarily live in the woods, apprehended for living on public land and forced to justify their existence to social services) but the movie's solid and she and her "dad" are terrific.

Logan was a top 10 that everyone will agree and none will challenge. reason it was cheered by everyone, marvel fans, dc fans, independent comic fans. it was good for the genre.
Sadly black panther is not one and only got the award because of racism. which makes void and meaningless.
that is sad. I hate to ask but dont you mcu fans even have any self respect or dignity?one thing xmen and dc fans can say with confidence is Logan and TDK was down to artistic merit. MCU fans cant say the same for black panther and yet they dont even feel ashamed or embarrassed by black panther getting all these recognition it will never have gotten if the cast was white and disney did not race bait the shit out of the movie.
Also I find this funny, look at mcu fans and their hypocrisy when wonder woman was getting the same recognition. mcu fans cried it was because she is female, now they ignore black panther is only getting the same recognition because he is black but DC already had a trump card in TDK. We never needed wonder woman that much.

thatguy tone down the hypocrisy with wonder woman afterall you did not think wonder woman deserved anything.
at least you know the awards for BP is meaningless , reason no one is cheering about it. films cheating to win awards is not legitimate recognition. poor mcu, they can't get recognised for artistic merit. they have to play the race card to get things. to think I was a proud logan and tdk fan? this just makes me even more proud of those films. LOL.

Because that's their opinions... I think Black Panther is better than Infinity War, but both are great! Black Panther is another generic mcu movie infinity war is bad film making of course MCU fans will interpret that as great but we know mcu fans love to lie about everything. |

Just so we can get things straight here....what do you mean by "MCU Fans? you are always using the term. People who ONLY like MCU films? People who like MCU films and other CBM movies? People that just generally disagree with you or don't share your opinion? I like the MCU films, most of the X-verse, am still waiting for a a wholly satisfying DCEU film, and I like the Nolan Batman films. But that seems to pigeonhole me, and many others here as "MCU Fans"...as if liking one studios output negates any opinion they have on any other CBM film. In fact I would say the majority of pro-MCU posters here are pretty much more open minded than you when it comes to enjoying their CBMs. Their are 20 films to choose from out there many are willing to enjoy, without brushing them off because they are not as dark as one of your favourites, there are not enough jokes about costumes, they had more success than your favourites etc. |
