"Crossroads: A story of forgiveness" A Hallmark movie apparently based on a true story. Pretty heavy for a Hallmark movie. A family is killed by a Teen street racing.

Finally found Jurassic World 2015 in the $5 bin at Walmart and bought it. I rather liked it. I liker the two leads, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. I am now rewatching the earlier Jurassic Park movies and just finished Jurassic Park II The Lost World where they bring the TRex back to California and have it wandering the streets of SanDiego. Next is Jurassic Park III with the Spinosaur. Good stuff.

It’ll be a big improvement over the scratched up, & faded print I watched on the exploitation cinema double feature DVD last year. The picture stills look impressive alone. Although that old DVD wasn’t all bad, as I rather liked the second feature Blood Song and did have a commentary track by Bobbie Bresce.

A couple Vinegar Syndrome bluray/DVD’s; Mausoleum Spookies Mascara I haven't bought a lot of movies the last few months, mainly because of, well, the rather special situation we live with, and also because most of the flea markets and used second hand stores have either stopped taking in more movies, books and music, (at least for a while) and the last few times I have visited that kind of shops, very little new is in store. So instead I have tried my luck in the more expensive and usual music and movie stores. Sadly, they are really expensive when it comes to films and music I find interesting (horror, sci-fi, action, cult-movies, b-movies and so on) and I mean some of the prices (specially on import items) are shocingly high, but still I am kind of a bit "desperate" right now, for trying to search up some new favorites here and there. Of course, it would be much cheaper to just look them up through several shops online, but I miss going out, never knowing what to expect finding waiting for me. I do have seen a few of the Vinegar Syndrome releases on Blu-ray/DVDs, but damn, some are so ridiculously overpriced, it kind of makes me both "sick" and very angry. Most of the titles I found lying around today, was mostly very trashy kind of movies I would be annoyed at myself for throwing away time on by watching them for free on Youtube, but a few caught my attention, but then again, the prices just made me realize it is probably not worth it. I can get 5-6 brand new movies or more for the same price they ask for what is most likely another horrible bad (in every way) movie. Still, I did end up picking up some "random" DVDs, and a few I am pretty sure will disappoint me, but I just have to "get them out of the way", and a couple of ones I really hope will be worth the trip today: Joker (2019) - DVD I am not really a big fan of neither the director, the actor or the character of the Joker, so anything above a 6/10 will be, well, positive I guess. But I would rather have another great or just very good Batman movie out, than all these Joker/Harley Quinn adventures that is constantly thrown out, both as live action and animated movies. Terminator: Dark Fate (2019) - DVD Again, I am probably in for yet another horror show, but I will only watch it for Linda Hamiltons return. Rambo: Last Blood (2019) - DVD I remember the big hype surrounding this one, but then it all turned very bad, which I guess still did not kill of my interest, but I am not expecting too much, just a bit of nostalgia and hopefully something a little better than the usual DTV trash Sly seems to throw out every now and then. Knives Out (2019) - DVD This one seems like a very interesting mystery-crime movie, love the cast and having both Jamie Lee Curtis and Don Johnson in there, well, that kind of sealed the deal for me. Pulp (1972) - DVD A pretty cool looking Arrow release that I just had to bring home with me. Huge fan of Get Carter (1971), and seeing that Mike Hodges and Michael Caine once more teams up, well, I do not expect the type of quality as their former movie, but it would be nice to be able of getting a few positive surprises thrown my way. Vanishing Point (1971) - DVD I have always been wanting to see this, as I only remember a TV-made movie (I believe) starring Viggo Mortensen from the 90s, and also that the supergroup Audioslave did a music video (Show Me How To Live) that I guess was heavily influence by the original film. Anyway, I picked up a 2-Disc Edition with several different versions (US and UK) and I really hope it will be a keeper. Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2018) - DVD Typical impulse buy, but who am I kidding, right? Sounds like a great time, sadly most of the Batman animated films I have seen for the past few years have turned out to be anything but impressive, so I guess it cannot be much worse than those. The Million Pound Note (1953) - DVD Always been a bit of a fan Gregory Peck, and this film (never seen or heard about it) sounds not that far off the 80s classic Trading places, which I guess might have been influenced by this one? Mr. Smith Goes To Town (1939) - DVD Again, another actor I have always liked, James Stewart seems to be one of those very few who just cannot do any wrong (or at least of those film I have seen him in), and have never seen the film before, but somehow I do have been meaning to look it up, and, well, today I guess was the right time for doing so. Looking at the titles been picked up, I guess I have not exactly hit the "jackpot", but if at least 2-3 of them might be very positive experiences, then I think I can live with that for now.

That’s fair enough. The likes of vinegar syndrome, shout/scream factory, Severin... etc are not cheap labels anymore. Pretty much in the last few years I only buy stuff from them when they’re on special, and of films I really want/seen before. i think you might find the most recent Rambo film rather decent. I thought it was solid enough. Crazy, over the top last half-hour too. Vanishing Point is quite a good road movie with some excellent scenic photography and streamlined pacing, but I might actually prefer Two-Lane Blacktop which came out the same year.

Sometimes Target or Walmart. But I definitely would never go over say five bucks for a movie. There's an awful lot of crap (recent low budget) horror films in the bargain bins. But if I look hard enough I can usually scrounge up something decent. I've probably been through every nook and cranny of my local Dollar store. Don't think I'll be going to it for awhile again. I recently got at the Dollar store "Troy", Hallmark's "Painted House", and Woody Allen's "Irrational man". Plus the low budget British Horror "The Hounds". All blind buys.

Picked up a few DVDs earlier today, mostly impulse buys (as usual) but also a few I do hope, or believe could be something more than just another "watch-once-never-again" "classic".
My Life (1993) Michael Keaton drama also starring Nicole Kidman. Never seen or heard of before, but have always been quite a fan of Keaton, because of his Batman movies, but also a few of his lesser known comedies of the 80s and 90s. Birdman was surely a pleasant surprise, and also enjoyed seeing him as the villain the Spider-Man movie a few years back. Kind of excited to learn that he might put on the Dark Knight costume, once more, even if it probably is just a "cameo", but I will try to keep my hopes up, and who knows, maybe it might lead onto something bigger if the upcomming Flash movie succeeds well.
Everybody Wins (1990) Mystery-thriller featuring Nick Nolte, Debra Winger and Will Patton. Only got because of the three names, but also since I do enjoy watching these late night thrillers right before I go to sleep at night, and hopefully it might be one of the better of the early 90s thrillers.
Tic Tac (1997) The swedish "Pulp Fiction" says the DVD artwork, not sure if that really is a good or bad sign, as most of the movies I have seen trying to be sold as anything close to Tarantino or Pulp Fiction, have sadly 9 out of 10 times always been anything from mediocre and forgettable, to just down right terrible. Of course, there are a few who surely is anything but bad, but they also rarely try to put the Tarantino "brand" onto the DVD cover as the biggest selling point.
Adam & Eva (1996) Another swedish movie, more of a drama-comedy I guess, but again, complete impulse buy.
The Shape of Water (2017) As usual,I am so far behind on "new movies" and releases, and this another one that I have never seen before but probably heard about, but I have spent most of my time watching anything but new films for the past years or more, so this kind of looks interesting, hope it might be a winner.
The Odd Couple (1967) Always loved wathing Walther Matthau and Jack Lemmon together on the screen, and while my favorite remains the Grumpy Old Men titles from the 90s, I sadly had yet to see The Odd Couple, but got to witness the sequel and few similar late 90s titles they did together, and they were sadly not very funny or impressive, but they still got the charm and chemistry together, and I guess that is why I watched to begin with.
Captive Comedies - 8 movie set Wow, some well known titles, such as Hudson Hawk, Cops & Robbersons and The Freshman but then it kind of sinks out, with stuff like Hollywood Homicide, and a few other I have never heard of or seen, but one I guess got my interest up, a bit. That was the Alicia Silverstone 1998 film, Excess Baggage, that also features Benicio Del Toro and Christopher Walken. Anyway, 8 films for the price of nothing, well, I already own Hudson Hawk and Cops and Robbersons, have seen The Freshman and Hollywood Homicide, so that is 4 seen, 2 I own and hopefully maybe 1 og the last 4 might be somekind of a surprise awaiting, if I am that lucky. Open Your Eyes (1997) The original version of the later Tom Cruise movie Vanilla Ice from 2001, which I kind of enjoyed, but always been interested in checking out the spanish version, which also features Penelope Cruz.
Turks Fruit (1973) One of several Rutger Hauer and Paul Verhoeven movies made during the 70s, and one of those I have always wanted to see. Enjoyed Soldier of Orange (1977) last year, and I do believe another of their work together was titled Spetters, which I have yet to watch.
Sleuth (1972) Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine on the screen together, is well, pretty much what made me want to go for this DVD. I think a similar themed movie were made during the early 80s, also starring Caine, but forgotten its name. Anyway, I really do hope this will live up to my expectations, as I have really began to enjoy these dark mystery-crime adventures, specially with the great Knives Out (2019) recently bought and seen, and surely my kind of mystery entertainment.
Dark Angel - Season 2 I actually own both of the first and second sesons of this James Cameron produced show, but sadly to my annoyance, some of the discs on the season 2 set where not included, so that kind of was a huge bummer, but thankfully I found another, perfectly fine season 2 set today for a nice price. Looking forward to re-watch it, as I never got around to do so, and I think it is over 15 years (or more) since I saw it regulary on television, and thought it would at least go for a few more seasons, kind of like with Buffy, Angel and Charmed.
Motorpsycho - Timothy's Monster (1994) - CD Have finally gotten around to start checking up this very exciting norwegian rock band, and having never heard of any of their material before, I was not sure what to expect, but all that was forgotten when I put on Demon Box (1993) which sounded like a fantastic combination of pretty much a whole variety show of musical genres, and while surely not among the most "easy listening" music around, I felt I had to check out some more of these guys, and I guess the most logic way of continuing the musical journey is with their follow up release Timothy's Monster.

Bought on bluray
(2018) Aquaman (1975) Jaws 45th anniversary limited edition 4k+ bluray (1979) Zombie 3 disc limited edition (1981) House by the Cemetery 3 disc limited edition (1987) The Believers
The two Fulci flicks came with their lenticular covers. I got the Bridge cover for Zombie.
A few days ago I finally realized the 4k steelbook of Aquaman I bought does not include a bluray disc. I had opened it up and looked inside when I bought it in December and even saw it only had one disc but it just didn't click in my brain. Went to watch it the other day and it finally registered.
I went to Best Buy yesterday just to look around. Saw Aquaman for $13 but put off buying it as they had 11 copies. Bought Jaws and a Gumby Funko Pop instead. Checked out the movies at Walmart today and saw Aquaman for the same price as BB but the Walmart copy came with a nice shiny slipcover so I bought it and a pair of RealTree camoflage slippers with memory foam. I'm keeping the beautiful looking steel though.

I have been spending a lot of money on DVD & Blu-ray lately. In a way more than I should, really reckless spending, but the logic is, I got most of these dirt cheap. 5-7€, while many of these are usually around 20€. Since I can pretty much get my own back from selling the ones I don't feel like keeping after watching them, there really wasn't any reason not to.
God Forgives... I Don't! Blu-ray Today We Kill... Tomorrow We Die! Blu-ray Buddy Goes West Blu-ray The Troublemakers Blu-ray Some spaghetti westerns with Bud Spencer. I have all of these on dvd so they are just version upgrades. God Forgives and The Troublemakers co-star Terence Hill of course while Today We Kill... has Brett Halsey. Buddy Goes West, probably the last spaghetti western to receive wide theatrical distribution, has Morricone's last score for the genre.
Mr. Billion DVD Terence Hill's solo movie. Never seen this one before.
Ferngully - The Last Rainforest DVD A Troll in Central Park DVD Wizards Blu-ray Few animated movies. Don Bluth's "Troll" seems to be universally hated. Wizards is the Bakshi one.
Shocker DVD Trauma DVD Rolling Thunder DVD Ballad in Blood DVD Not sure what I bought these for. Shocker I've seen at least twice before and it just isn't a good film. Argento's Trauma.... we'll, I don't remember anything at all about this, only that Dario tried to go mainstream with it and it didn't work out. Ballad in Blood is Ruggero Deodato's return to horror and honestly it looks quite awful, but let's give it a chance anyway. Rolling Thunder I've only seen from really crappy vhs copy, maybe it will work better now.
Cross of Iron Blu-ray The Changeling Blu-ray Truck Turner Blu-ray Bleeder Blu-ray Invasion USA Blu-ray Darkman Trilogy Blu-ray More version upgrades. Bleeder is Nicolas Winding Refn's quite forgotten second film made after Pusher, with many same actors. This and Fear X, Refn's first film shot in English, are both very underrated in my opinion. Invasion USA I've only got on video, haven't seen it in ages. Darkman trilogy, well, I got all three for the price of 1. Haven't seen the sequels since renting them on vhs back in the late 90s.
The Woman / Offspring Blu-ray set Jesus Shows You the Way to the Highway / Crumbs Blu-ray set The New Kids Blu-ray special edition World on a Wire Blu-ray set First two are Arrow Video releases and all of these were more expensive. "Jesus Shows..." limited edition of 2000 copies also includes director's previous film. Offspring I watched for the first time recently, very effective little shocker. The New Kids is one of those Sean S. Cunningham movie that no one seems to remember. 101 Films limited edition box with a booklet. World on a Wire, Second Sight Films limited edition box set. Fassbinder goes sci-fi.
The Witch in the Window Blu-ray The Lodge Blu-ray Between Worlds Blu-ray Satanic Panic Blu-ray Cold Skin Blu-ray Tigers Are Not Afraid Blu-ray Await Further Instructions DVD Nightlight DVD Barfly DVD The Ballad of Lefty Brown DVD Machine Gun Kelly DVD Shanghai Surprise DVD Death Weekend DVD Dirty Diaries DVD Sweet Country DVD I Am Not Your Negro DVD The Book of Birdie DVD
Random stuff that I bought because each sounded interesting and they were cheap. The Witch in the Window and The Lodge were on my watch list anyway.
The Holy Mountain (Der heilige berg) Creepy Troll 1 & 2 The Night of the Generals The White Reindeer Gate of Hell (Jigokumon) The Mourning Forest The Birth of a Nation
Eureka / Masters of Cinema Blu-rays from discount.
Woman is the Future of Man / Tale of Cinema Blu-ray Seijun Suzuki's The Taisho Trilogy Blu-ray The Long Goodbye Blu-ray The Bloodstained Butterfly Blu-ray Edge of the Axe Blu-ray Before We Vanish Blu-ray Contamination Blu-ray The Dead Center Blu-ray The Chill Factor Blu-ray
Arrow Video releases, also from discount.
Also bought pretty much the entire Studio Ghibli back catalogue since they were 5€ each on Blu. I have them all on dvd already but those old releases are sometimes lacking in picture quality.

Bought on Bluray (1989) Little Monsters (1975) Shivers Wasn't even aware that Shivers was recently released on blu-ray. Gotta pick that up this month. Yeah. I don't know if you're in the US, but its part of Lionsgate's Vestron Video Collector's Series. The best part is it (and Little Monters) is only $11 or $12. They're even in store at walmart. Cronenberg recorded a new commentary for it.
