Have been meaning to upgrade a few of the early classic Seagal films, but Darkman is especially one I would love some new behind the camera material on. Those 3 blurays I got were local releases. Hard to Kill and Darkman are out-of-print… but no bonus materials. The shout/scream factory bluray release of Darkman is the only edition I know that had a stack of bonus material; interviews and behind the scenes. But I think it’s out-of-print too. I picked up a 3 pack bluray set of Under Siege 1&2, and Above the Law early this year. No extra features. I already owned Marked for Death on bluray. Bare bones too, but uncut compared to the previous cut dvd I had. I don’t think Seagal’s bluray, let alone dvd releases have ever gotten special features other than a trailer. I want to get Out for Justice, but I read bad reviews for the bluray release regarding pic and sound quality being no better than the dvd release. I’ll wait until I come across a cheap second hand copy, so my dvd copy will do for now. Unless it gets a 4K UHD release in the near future. As for Christine, the 4K UHD release. It looks like it ported over the special features from the previous bluray/dvd releases.

There seems like Arrow and a few German companies tend to re-release Shout and Scream Factory Blu-ray releases towards other countries rather than USA and Canada. So maybe there is a chance someday it might turn up again, but for other fans to enjoy as well. Marked for Death I own two DVD copies of, one is uncut the other is not. But yeah, Out for Justice and maybe Hard to Kill is those I would love to one day upgrade from his early days. Thanks for the info about the other releases, Christine might not be among the very top films from Carpenter, but still one I have always liked very much.

Some nice titles there, even though I have not seen Old Henry, but heard only positive things about it. Django I have two DVD versions of, but might reconsider to upgrade it some time. Had a very pleasant re-watch with The Great Silence (1968) just a few weeks ago, and kind of regret that I did not pick up the Eureka Blu-ray I saw in a store earlier this fall, but still think my old DVD copy has held up rather well.

Is the Psycho II a new Scream or Shout Factory release? Love the second one, and while also one of those I have two DVD versions of, I would like to upgrade it someday. Have not yet seen Doctor Sleep, but will probably include it to my watchlist for the upcoming October Challenge.

But it did a good job of referencing the Kubrick production. And expanding the Universe.

Picked up a bunch of secondhand blurays, DVDs & books from op shops, a book store, flea market & CEX. I originally had pictures on the post, but before posting, the screen refreshed wiping everything out. So wasn’t in the mood to start linking pics again. Been happening quite a bit lately, especially during those Director threads, or on the weekly watched thread.
House of the Devil bluray The Ruins (Unrated cut) bluray Warlock (1988) bluray Lost Highway bluray Jaws 2 bluray Out for Justice bluray Adventures in Babysitting bluray

Streamed.... "Massacre at Central High". For me it was more of an Exploitation movie. Not a Slasher. Interesting for a one time watch.
"The Majorettes"... This is alot different from other Slashers. It's a slow burn. You get some Character development that isn't always in these movies. The last act takes an Action movie tone. And overall I liked this. It all worked for me.
"Deadly games" This was similar to "Graduation Day" or "Final Exam". A killer used a Javelin to kill his victms. But I thought it wasn't as good as "Graduation Day" etc. It was okay. But not as good as other Slashers.

But not as good as other Slashers. Massacre at Central High is surprisingly a good little film. Deadly Games or Fatal Games? Been a long time since I’ve seen Deadly Games, so my memory is off regarding the details of the killer. Though if it’s Fatal Games, I found it kinda funny watching the killer sneak around the school grounds holding a javelin. Talk about awkward, and uncomfortable when planning a quick escape, or sneaking up on victims.

Been a while since my last post, but will try to be more active this fall. Anyway, had a bit of a impulsive purchase earlier today. A few nordic titles, a few I have been wanting to see for quite some time. Had to pick up the Cynthia Rothrock, Gary Busey and Sammo Hung brand new Eureka! and Signal One Blu-rays, even though I already own a copy of the Busey one, but that was part of a 4 movie all night marathon Shout! Factory release. I think it was also a cut version, so hopefully this new one is uncut. Have not too many Western films with Lee Van Cleef in the lead, but this 5 movie pack hopefully comes with a few worthy ones. The one I was most interested in, were the Vincent Price Arrow Video box set, that I will save for the upcoming October Challenge. Should be fun and atmospheric horror thrills for that time of the year.

Typical Summo Hung slapstick hokum, but I do like these silly supernatural comedies. Comfortable viewings. Are those eureka blurays packed with extras? Eye of the Tiger is a film I need to re-watch. I remember being quite lukewarm on it. I cannot remember why though? Nice collection of Vincent Price films. Gotta think they would look good on bluray, even more so on UHD 4K. Especially with their atmospheric sets and coloured lighting. Should pop.

I thought The Blonde Fury began rather well, even though I am not sure which version (The Euraka Blu-ray came with a Theatrical Version and an International Cut) is the better, but I went with the Theatrical cut. Anyway, it opened promising, but I guess somewhere in, there was a bit far too much "goofy" comical things happening, not bad, just hoped for more ass kicking and well, I might re-watch it later on, maybe one of those that will deliver a litte more with a revisit. When it comes to the bonus features, I have not had much time to look into it, but from the backside of the Blu-ray it says: there are brand new commentarys and interview with Cynthia.[/span][/spoiler] Will soon put in a few words/reviews of recent seen films in the Last action film thread. This summer (or at least last 4-6 weeks) I have tried to re-watch the entire Miami Vice, but sadly season 4 and 5 have kind of been a slow going and rather boring "adventure". Cannot do more than a few episodes here and there, while Season 1 and 3 was a blast, and could easily go through 4-5 a day. Anyway, had plans on re-watching MacGyver, Airwolf and A-Team, but I realize that I miss watching movies, and with fall coming up very fast, I will just focus in getting finished with Vice and see where it goes from there on.

Just the other day, I "stumbled" upon this Arrow Video retro boxset, focusing on the films of Charles Band during the 80s. Almost put in an order there and then, but came to realize that I do already own 4 of the 5 films included, but where 3 of them are featured in Shout! Factory's 2013 4-Movies All Night Marathon releases, where as Dolls (1987) I have on a single DVD version. Anyway, I was heading into the city today, and there among the special import shelf, this boxset was lying. I guess having a chance to take a better look at it changed my mind, and just had to have it with me home. Probably not among the very best of movies coming from Charles Band many productions, but I sure hope this feature from Arrow Video might be the start of something similar, like putting out other retro-VHS sets from others 80s and early 90s companies, which specialized in the home video market. Tried to take a few images while unpacking it. Loved the 70-80s page booklet along with the movie posters. While a bit pricy, I guess fans of Charles Band and the VHS era, will find lots of fun with this package. Those only seeking out a single movie, instead of buying the entire thing, I believe there might be some news of all films getting re-relased as single editions later this fall. Each of the Blu-rays comes with both the original movie poster or artwork, along with a more updated version. Some other films, a few that I have been meaning to pick up for decades, while others were more impulsive. However, I am looking forward to checking up on Jeff Liberman and his Satan's Little Helper. Also picked up a few albums, hopefully something interesting in that bunch as well:

I literally have not seen that one since it debuted in 1978.
