A vintage "making of" featurette and the theatrical trailer.

Thanks. I was hoping there would at least be an audio commentary, like from Jerry Schatzberg. Oh well.

Thanks. I was hoping there would at least be an audio commentary, like from Jerry Schatzberg. Oh well. Unfortunately, with Warner Archive, they are NOT in the habit of creating new bonus features for these Blu-rays. If there are existing bonus features from previous releases, they'll port them over, but that's about it.

A number of my online acquaintances loaded up on Vinegar Syndrome titles lately. Good stuff.
Hopefully Ice Cream Man gets a general release. I know that this was just a limited run available only from their website.
I already have Death Machines, Nightmare Sisters, and My Chauffeur.
Black Friday sales, I couldn't help myself I also splurged on Severin, but I'm still waiting on the delivery. "Ice Cream Man" does come in a nicely designed package. Out of the lot, surprisingly, "Death Machines" is one I'm most looking forward to.
"Death Machines" is very funny. It's a cheesy "so bad it's good" action gem from the 70s.

Back from the Dollar store...
"Wicked Blood" (2013) Dunno much. Looks like an Action film. Looks neat.
Dvd set: "Blackbeard", "Captain Kidd", "Crash Dive", (May I add except for "Captain Kidd" these are the remake's.)
"Need For Speed" (2014) Fair share of silly moments. (Based on a Video game) But I really dig the main cast and action.

I recently picked up "The Lift" and it looks like Blue Underground has done a terrific job on it. Has me interested in Dick Maas' "Amsterdamned"?

These current Blue Underground collector's editions are awfully pricey, but it does look like they attempt to give you your money's worth.
I enjoyed "The Lift". I'll be aiming to pick up "Amsterdamned" at some point.

Haven't posted here in a while, however I have done some movie purchases of the last few weeks, mostly through Amazon.com and Amazon.uk.
Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (2000) This one I have wanted in my collection for a long time and I was afraid I had done a terrible failure when I learned upon (after buying it) that there were several (at least two) different versions of the same film, one heavily cut/edited by the PC police (I think it was because of some school shootings back in 1999) and somehow Batman had to pay!, and one uncut, original version that contains the violence and more dark themes. Anyway, I was very glad when I found out that the copy I recieved was the uncut and original version.
UHF (1989) Weird Al Yankovic comedy, and one I watched a few days ago. Very glad I did not pay too much for it as I thought it was a rather forgettable and at times painful (the Michael Richards janitor act) experience, but some of the stuff that was parodied worked out well, sadly too much of the time it did not, and Weird Al can be funny in small doses, but for me that is pretty much it, any more of his "comedy" and it can easily end up going very wrong.
Out Cold (1989) Johh Litgow, Teri Garr, Randy Quaid and Bruce McGill stars in what looks like a black comedy or something like that and is a complete impulse buy. I only got it because of the actors and that I looked up the trailer after seeing the DVD artwork/cover on Amazon. Hopefully it will not be another letdown.
Humanoids from the Deep (1996) Okey, so it is not the gory, bushy, nude filled nasty monster cult-classic of the 80s but I have somehow "always" wanted to see the remake, also done by Roger Corman (or produced). I am not expecting big things from this one, however it was so cheap I just could not resist the "temptation" of getting to watch it, at last once.
Undefeatable (1993) Another Cynthia Rothrock "classic", probably best known for the ridiculous, over-the-top fight sequence from Youtube around summer of 2006, and since that is pretty much the main reason why I ended up getting it, I kind of have a small hope there might be more cheese and stupidity thrown in there to actually make it a wathcable martial arts/b-movie.
Toy Soldiers (1991) Sean Astin and a fellow gang of teenagers end up fighting for their lives (or so I remembered from watching it on TV back in 2001) against a bunch of nasty villains at a school or university. Kind of like a The Breakfast Club/Red Dawn meets up with Die Hard, or so I have been told. Do not remember much from it, but always wanted to re-watch it again.
Street Fighter (1994) Okey, it is probably going to get a lot "painful" with horrible acting and no-plot (if I remember correctly) but still it is been such a long time since I last saw it, I really cannot say for sure if this was a good or terrible film, however what I do know is that it stars Kylie Minogue and I think I remember her wearing a neat leotard or something, so I guess that alone makes it worthy a re-watch.
In the Deep Woods (1992) One of the last films I think Anthony Perkins did, probably not a very good one, however I remember that my parents owned a rental VHS copy of the film and that I somehow never got around to see it. So again, an impulse buy and it also features my favorite Arquette sister (Roseanna) in the lead role. Looks like a serial killer made for TV thriller and do have a soft spot for these films.
The Tommyknockers (1993) Typical 90s mini-series Stephen King material, or so I remember it to be. I have a scandinavian VHS copy, but from what I remember it was not a great film and one of the reasons might be due to the fact that it was cut down with over an hour of time, as my DVD says 181 minutes, while the VHS says 119 minutes. That is a lot stuff that is taken out, might not make much of a differ but still I am curious on re-watching it again, and maybe it will be better experience this time around. Lots of familiar faces also shows up, and I find it a bit strange that it is one of the more hard to find Stephen King films/releases of that era, and have never seen a DVD copy in any of the physical movie stores, but ended up with a used copy instead.
Evil Toons (1992) Tits and ass and lots of sleaze (or so I hope). Anyway, another one of the titles I have bought recently which I have had in my IMDb watchlist for years now, and the main reason to why I never picked it up is that it seemed to be brutally overpriced most of the times. I mean some people where after 60-70 dollars for a worn out DVD version, no way I am going to pay that kind of money for a film that probably I only will watch once, then never again. So now the price tag suddenly is very cheap, and well I thought the time was right to do something about it. I do not expect much, but since it is a Fred Olen Ray film, I do have my small hopes up for some small b-movie fun.
The Hitman (1991) Another impulse buy and this time Chuck Norris teams up with Cannon Pictures. That must be 2 great reasons alone to give it a go.
Hiding Out (1987) Another one of Jon Cryers 80s attempts on being taken "serious" as a leading man, (but just as with Judge Reinhold he just never did seem to be cut out to become one). This one looked kind of funny, or at least through watching the trailer. I remember I picked up some of the Lionsgate: The Lost Collection with the slogan: The best movies that you totally forgot about! "Yeah, right!" where some douchy asshole hipster shows up on every film and says some "funny" ironic stuff on the DVD cover, but it was only made like 9-10 films of that release and I think I got Slaughter High and My Best Friend is a Vampire (which I actually liked a lot).
3 "Great" Films: The Pirate Movie (1982), The Beverly Hillbillies (1993) and Bushwacked (1995) Another huge impulse buy, only because of Bushwacked which I saw years ago and from the little I do remember it stars Daniel Stern as some whacky criminal or loony among with a bunch of boyscouts/girlscouts or a school class out in the wild. But when I found out I could get 3 "great" movies for the price of none, including the lovely Erika Eleniak (in a film I have never seen or heard about), I just had to give it a chance. Probably 3 "great" turds but the price was so cheap I almsot got it thrown at me for free.
Gooftroop Vol. 1 Well, I do loved this childhood gem when I was a kid back in the early 90s. I actually picked up a "Vol 1." copy of the same show a few weeks ago, but it only contained 3 episodes this one however seems to include 27 episodes and I notice there is also a second volume out with also another 27 episodes on it (might have to pick that one up later). Saw a few episodes the last few days, and I actually enjoyed it. Not great or even close of the best animated shows Disney put out during the 80s and early 90s, but still lightyears above what goes on 24/7 (for the past 10-15 years or more) on Disney Channel.
Encino Man (1992) I used to remember seeing this show at summer in the early 00s but then it was named "California Man". Again, I have not seen it for a long, long time. But what I do think I remember is that is has Sean Astin digging up some caveman (Brendan Fraser) after trying to fix up a swimming pool in his backyard. Probably not a great film, but I do think I enjoyed it back then.
Joe Versus The Volcano (1990) Probably one of the very few, but I prefer the old stuff of Tom Hanks (you know, before he became the critics darling) and for me, I will never grow tired of watching the stuff he made from the mid 80s and up till, well the early 90s (before Philadelphia and Forest Gump).
The Midnight Hour (1985) TV made horror film, and one I have been wanting to see for a while now, sadly the Anchor Bay copy is brutally overpriced, some wants (is it 400 dollars or more) anyway there are just completely insanse prices and I tracked down an italian copy but one which they speak english and while the picture seems to be of VHS quality, the sound is great and the price is far more reasonable.
Ski School (1991) Impulse buy, yet again. Do not expect big things (well I do expect some nice portion of T&A) and it seems like a lot of people consider it to be one of the last "classic" 80s teen-sex comedies to be made, and the whole genre seemed to more or less die out during that time. I know that American Pie and similar films kind of picked up again where it left but still they just did not have the b-movie "magic" which many of the 80s and early 90s teen-sex comedies had.
Teenage Exorcist (1991) Only got because of the ridiculous trailer, that and Brinke Stevens and it seems like Fred Olen Ray is also in on this, so might be fun skinflix-horror/comedy, or just a big pile of turd.
I'm Dangerous Tonight (1990) Another made to TV Anthony Perkins release of the early 90s and one that I have only seen once, but that is years ago. Not sure why it took it so long before finally getting a DVD release, since there are a lot of familiar faces and names in here, with Tobe Hooper, Perkins, R. Lee Ermey, Dee Wallace and of course the stunning Mädchen Amick who happens to stumble upon an red azted dress which seems to possess anyone who comes near her and her new clothing. This DVD was released last year and the picture and sound seems very good.
Puppet Master trilogy Re-released and remastered by the british 88 Films. Have only seen the first two (I think lots and lots more were made but I am only interested in the first three).
The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990) Another early 90s Tom Hanks film that I have not seen for years, and I remember that it got a lot nasty critic thrown at it, but I somehow enjoyed it but again have not watched for at least 15 years or more.
Internal Affairs (1990) Never seen the whole film before, but the little I do remember is that Richard Gere plays a complete asshole in it, and that is pretty much it.
Speechless (1994) Only got it because of my little crush on Geena Davis. Seems like a cute/enjoyable romantic-comedy.
Bikini Ski School (1991) Another impulse buy, with two hot babes in bikinins and that was it. Probably a piece of shit, but one that was so cheap I just had to get it.
Inner Space (1987) Saw this a few days ago, not a great film but still some fun and entertainment was to be found. Another film I have had in my watchlist for years, and well, I will probably keep it but not one that I will watch again anytime soon.
Time After Time (1979) Malcolm McDowell and David Warner stars in this "alternative" take on Sherlock Holmes meets up with Jack the Ripper in the modern times of New York, or so it says. Impulse buy and again, I have had it lying on my watchlist for years.
Dead in the Water (1991) Erotic thriller? Well, I am not really sure on this but I do remember watching a few minutes of it years ago on TV. It had a young Teri Hatcher and Bryan Brown plotting to kill his wife or something like that. Again, another impulse buy.
The Package (1989) I remember this as a solid packed action-thriller by Andrew Davis and starring Gene Hackman and Tommy Lee Jones. Seen before and really enjoyed it.
Someone to Watch Over Me (1987) Another erotic thriller or so it seems, anyhow it have Tom Berenger, Mimi Rogers and is directed by Ridley Scott.
Overboard (1987) Late 80s romantic, screwball comedy starring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. Another one that I used to see a lot as a kid, and hopefully it will live up to my childhood memories.
Strange Brew (1983) Canadian comedy starring Rick Moranis and Max Von Sydow. Not sure what to expect but another film that looks funny and (hope it is) that have been on my watchlist for years now.
Mom and Dad Save the World (1992) Probably not a great one, however I do kind of enjoy these silly sci-fi/fantasy films of the 80s and early 90s so another impulse buy it is.
Do Not Enter (1999) Michael Chicklis chases some terrfied mute girl in the dark and shady streets of Amsterdam, or so I remember it. It also has William Hurt, Dennis Leary and I think Jennifer Tilly among the main leads. Impulse buy.

Before the new year I got an old Christmas dvd set.
"A Time for Miracles" About Elizabeth Bayley Seton's hard life who became Catholic and took in Orphans to convert and teach. She became a Saint. Good movie and a bit gritty in parts. Good picture and sound quality for a 1980 made for Tv film. Starring Kate Mulgrew.
Will watch the rest tomorrow...
"The Christmas Wife"
"A Christmas without Snow"
"A Liberace Christmas" (short)
Plus a few very old Christmas cartoons that are pretty cool. One was Russian dubbed in English.
