Stone Cold Dead (Blu-ray)
Code of Silence (Blu-ray) Miller's Crossing (Blu-ray) Stone Cold, is that the 1990s action film? I have always wanted to check that one out, heard it is one of the more "underated" of the early 90s action movies. Code of Silence and Miller's Crossing are solid entertainment all the way through.

No, Stone Cold *Dead* is a 1979 Canadian film that combines elements of Gialli, crime dramas, and exploitation sleaze.
The 1990s action movie is great fun, though.
I agree with the consensus that Code of Silence is one of Chuck Norris' best. I aim to get Miller's Crossing off my "list of shame" this week.

I hope you enjoy enjoy Miller's Crossing, because that one sure is a great film and one of the few Coen brother's movies I can watch several times a year, with no problems.

Resident Evil: Retribution (2012) Only purchased as an impulse buy. Seen 3 of the films, and they are pretty much within the 4/10 kind of entertainment value, well beside maybe the second one, Apocalypse that one was not as poor as the others. Wyatt Earp (1994) Never seen before, but found as dirt cheap copy and thought I might do something about it very soon. The Cider House Rules (1999) Not a fan of Tobey Maguire and I bought it because of Michael Caine. Again, a complete impulse buy. Boogie Night (1998) I really dislike Mark Wahlberg, even more than Maguire but I will give it a chance because of the strong cast and I hope that it contains a lot of Heather Graham in there as well. What Women Want (2000) Impulse buy. Saw a bit of it back in 2001, but it was a incredible cheap copy and I thought "what the hell?". The Last House on the Left (1972) & Summer of Fear (1978) A Wes Craven double billed copy. Seen Summer of Fear once or twice, and own a copy of The Last House on the Left but there are no subtitles and I think the sound was rather poor, so I hope it is a bit of an upgrade on that one. The Faculty (1999) One of those films I have been wanting to see for a long time but never got around to do so, but now I picked up a cheap copy for absolutely nothing. Ridicolous how cheap DVDs have become, but I am not gonna complain about that. French Kiss (1997) Romantic comedy? starring Kevin Kline and Meg Ryan. Another impulse buy. Blade Runner (1982) Already own several copies of it, but what the hell, it is one of my most treasured films and I can find space for another one of them.

Great purchases there chefmacabre. Especially Sideways (2004) which have become a big favorite of mine.
I rarely buy brand new films anylonger, as the prices in most music/movie shops are too often ridiculous high, specially when it comes to the movie genres which are closest to my liking, which means region 1 imported titles and boom, they are all of a sudden priced up to not only double but sometimes the triple of what they cost online. However, I was a weak yesterday and found a couple of films I have had on my IMDb Watchlist for many years:
Married to the Mob (1988) - Jonathan Demme, late 80s screwball comedy with a stunning Michelle Pfeiffer and one I have always wanted in my movie collection but somehow never gotten around to buy, until now that is.
Body Double (1984) - I love sleazy 80s and early 90s erotic thrillers, and this is along with (I think China Blue?) is one of those that I have yet to see and now I cross that off my to-do list.
Stryder (1983) - Impulse buy, seems like a italian Mad Max: The Road Warrior rip-off, but what the hell, it could just turn out to be a lot of b-movie fun after all.
From Noon till Three (1976) - Charles Bronson and Jill Ireland stars in a western, comedy or something like that. Never seen, but got it because I am a fan of the man.
We Are Still Here (2015) - Modern horror film, only got it because of Barbara Crampton. Saw it yesterday and, well It was sadly not my kind of fun.

Star Trek: Beyond (2016) - I was impressed by the one from 2009, and since I never have been a fan of the series/show but the films however, I seem to enjoy.
Rose Red: Mini-Series (2002) - Did not enjoy it as much as I had hoped for after seeing it the first time, but I am willing to try and give it another go.
Journey to the Center of the Earth (2007) - Another film I have seen once but did very little for me, some years ago. Might give that one also a second chance.
Bad Karma (2012) - Ray Liotta thriller, seems like a b-movie but for such a cheap price, I thought it was "worth" to check it out, but will probably be another impulse buy stinker.
Hollywoodland (2006) - Never liked either Ben Affleck or Adrien Brody, but it does feature the beautiful Diane Lane and one of my favorite actors, Bob Hoskins, so that might even things out a bit.
The Crow: Wicked Prayer (2005) - Saw the original a few months back, not too impressed. Great visuals and a promising start but sadly it ended up being yet another disappointing film where I was "fooled" in by all the raving reviews and "masterpiece" this and mastepiece that, talk. 6/10 was the best I could do and then I ended up seeing the horrible "sequel" from 1996 which was to be one of the worst films I saw last year. Anyway, this one from 2005 I think I have seen before, but it must be 12 years or so since then, will probably be another awful attempt on milking the last drops out of the original, but who knows, it could turn out to be surprise, for a change. Shutter Island (2010) - The Leo Di Caprio and Marty Scorsese films I have mostly found to be good, but rarely anything more than that. Not a fan of Leo, never have been and if this one turns out as yet another "letdown", it is not the end of the world as the film cost me almost nothing and I expect nothing of it either.
Detective Story (1951) - Crime film or drama with Kirk Douglas. Impulse buy.
Broken Flowers (2005) - Always liked Bill Murray, but the more depressive stuff he has done with Wes Anderson over the years, I will probably never understand why many think of them as "hilarious" comedies, but different strokes for different folks and all that.
Paddington (2014) - I have no idea what to expect beside some animated teddy bear with a red hat. Impulse buy again and again.
Riding the Bullet (2004) - Another Stephen King movie/TV adaption which I saw years ago, but did very little for me, decided to try and and see it once more but I highly doubt it would do much difference.
The Station Agent (2003) - Comedy or drama, all I know is that I saw some parts of it years ago on TV. Starring Peter Dinklage, Patricia Clarkson and Bobby Cannavale.
The Amityville Horror (2005) - Probably yet another below average/mediocre remake or so, but again a impulse buy.
Legend (1985) - Another film I have had on my watchlist for years, found a cheap used DVD copy and decided to pick it up. Never liked Tom Cruise, but he do have special talent of showing up in some very good films now and then with actors that I like.
Rogues of Sherwood Forest (1950) - Impulse buy! Sword fighting adventure, might be fun but the chances are probably even bigger it won't, still an incredible cheap DVD copy.
Peter Gabriel - Secret World (1994) - Live concert film, saw some of it a very long time ago on TV but found a dirt cheap copy and since I am a big fan of Genesis, specially the proggier period with Gabriel, I thought it might be worth a chance to check this one out.
Brother (2000) - British/Japanese crime/action film, another impulse buy.
The Reaping (2007) - Impulse buy.
Bullet to the Head (2012) - Owned it once, then saw it. Not too impressed, but I am willing to go at it once more.

All DVD:
Angelos Vendetta (2002) - Not a great Sly Stallone film, but it do come with a stunning Madeleine Stowe and that makes it worth to see or own.
Terry Pratchett's Hogfather (2006) - Impulse buy. Seems like a christmas themed tv-movie.
The Man Who Knew Too Much (1934) - Not seen too many of Alfred Hitchcock's pre-Hollywood films, but of those I have seen, I have often liked them more than his bigger budget american ones.
Flood (2007) - Disaster film or a thriller of somekind, starring Robert Carlyle. Impulse buy.
Dr. Dolittle & Dr. Dolittle 2 - Very likely to be yet another terrible couple of Eddie Murphy comedies, but again another impulse buy.
Ginger Snaps (2000) - Never seen, but often thought I have so, and now I guess I should do something about it. Seems to have a rather good reputation, but I am not expecting too much of it.

A bunch of 88 Films Blu-rays for a bit less than 6€ each.
River of Death The Messenger of Death House of Traps The Toxic Avenger The Toxic Avenger Part II The Toxic Avenger Part III The Toxic Avenger IV: Citizen Toxie Puppetmaster
I've never seen House of Traps or Toxic Avengers III & IV. Maybe Messeger of Death with improve on rewatch - it's one of Cannon era Bronsons that I didn't really care for the first time.

Messenger of Death is more of a crime/drama than the usual Cannon/Bronson films of that time, not a bad one but maybe a bit "slower" paced than what too expect. The Toxic Avenger sequels I have mostly disliked very much, just not even close of re-capturing the magic of the original, and they (as with most of Tromas film) try too hard to top it by adding more and more gore/violence, nudity (nothing wrong with that) but when it is just done for the sake of it, it rarerly manages to fill in where the plot is missing.
Puppetmaster however I quite enjoyed, specially the 88 Films release, I ended up with the DVD trilogy, and the picture and sound was far better than my old copy.

Puppetmaster however I quite enjoyed, specially the 88 Films release, I ended up with the DVD trilogy, and the picture and sound was far better than my old copy. It's been a decade since I watched Messenger of Death, but it definitely felt slow and a bit uninteresting, more like a failed attempt to do another Mr. Majestyk kind of serious 70s style Bronson movie. Maybe it will work better now that I know what to expect. Toxic Avenger II already felt quite forced and most people seem to agree that part III is remarkably worse, so no high hopes for these. If it were not for cheap prices I would have skipped them once again. Troma movies that I have enjoyed the most tend to be the ones that feel like something that everyone enjoyed making. They have definitely made a good number of uninspired and "forced" tryhard movies that often feel tiresome or even annoying. I'm not really a fan of the company as a whole, though they've had their good moments. Puppetmaster I've already seen at least half dozen times since VHS days. Didn't bother with Blu-rays of the sequels since I've already got a DVD collection and the movies simply are not good. Puppetmaster II is still ok if I remember correctly, however it was priced 9€ and that's too much. Puppetmaster III: Toulon's Revenge has its fans but I've never liked it's attempt to re-create The Third Reich with a budget better suited for a high school stage play.

I think Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz wanted The Toxic Avenger Part II and III to be just one movie but since that would have meant almost 3 hours of time, I guess one became two, sadly not very good movies filled with lots of random fighting/violence/nudity scenes but story/character wise it was a mess. I remember buying them only to complete my Toxie film collection, seen them once or twice but that is that. Agree that Troma had some pleasant surprises every now and then, but the over-milking of the Toxie franchise (for my part) went a little to high (or low) with the sequels, but of course for those who just cannot get enough of the big guy smashing criminals heads in, it must be great having several films of his to watch.
I had the opportunity to buy the whole 10 (or ist 12?) Puppetmaster movie pack collection last week for absolutely nothing, but I walked away. Not even such a cheap price could want me to watch anymore of the sequels. Ok, I quite enjoyed some of the part II but the one with the nazis and all, it was a very big step down from the first two films, specially the original one.

All DVDs:
Phonebooth (2003) - Impulse buy. Not a fan of Farrell, never been but people seem to keep on going that "THIS" is the film one should to see of his earlier release, beside Tigerland which I despised and yeah, I tried to watch some of his other films and still not impressed one bit. Dirt cheap copy, probably gonna see it through, and then likely throw it in the garbage.
Premonition (2007) - Some kind of a thriller starring Sandra Bullock, again another impulse buy.
The Haunted Mansion - (2003) Seen it once, in fact I owned a copy but either it got lost or I threw it out. Not a bad film as I remember it to be and ended up re-buying it for such a nicely priced item.
Taken Trilogy - Liked the first one, the next two however became a bit "too much", but three films for not even the price of one, I could not ignore that kind of offer.
Double Dragon - The Movie (1994) - Impulse buy it is in fact not, as I was made aware of it through a post by Lostinlimbo earlier this year when discussing Street Fighter (also released the same year and probably in the same genre) and thought the trailer looked so cheesy that I kind of wanted to give it a go, that and Robert Patrick looked pretty damn cool as the baddie.
Hush (2008) - British horror film, and again another impulse buy.
Best Laid Plans (1999) - Drama/thriller starring Reese Witherspoon and Josh Brolin. Impulse buy once again.
