Didn't do much for me, but I just watched the TV miniseries a couple months ago and this is pretty much a direct replica of the scenes in that production. I think this is going to be a case of people who never saw the original responding stronger to the new film. I mean if you've seen the tv production, a jump scare of a face in the sewer isn't going to work. I honestly have very few qualms with the original.

Thanks! I've been wanting to see that.
Interesting that the kid who plays Mike on Stranger Things is in this and both are set in the '80s.

Not bad for a first trailer.

Well, that looks pretty God damn terrifying.
I'm definitely interested in this. Tim Curry was really good in the old movie, but the movie itself was pretty lame.

Not bad for a first trailer. I just checked comments on sites like Collider, Birth.Movies.Death, Dark Horizons and A.V. Club: the response to this trailer is almost universally positive (I'd say around 90-95 percent seem to dig it). If the film gets good reviews, I wonder how successful this could be at the box office? Could this be a genuine hit?

It's released in September, which really isn't a month that tears up the box office. But sure, if it gets great reviews and the Steven King fans come out in droves, it could be a modest hit. It didn't look like a huge budgeted film either. It should be fine.

I haven't seen anything on Collider in months if not a year (or more). Their comments section just up and disappeared one day. I assumed that they disabled it.

But only to get rid of Disqus; now you can comment via Facebook (which I refuse to do, but i still check out the comments sometimes).

I unliked them a while ago and apparently have been blocked from liking them again. Collider got waaaay to political and biased too. That is why they pulled an IMDB and eliminated opinions.

Am I a bad person for laughing out loud at the kid bumping his head at the beginning? It was like something out of Home Alone.
Looks pretty much exactly like how I expected it to look. Still haven't heard Stellan's son's voice, but at best I'm expecting a Jackie Earle Haley to Tim Curry's Robert Englund.

I was looking forward to seeing this, but its a tad disappointing. Its atmospheric, but the direction and acting is kind of lame. The "IT" trailer reminds me of the trailer for the Uwe Boll film Alone in the Dark.
