It's been 20 years since the controversial remake of Hitchcock's "Psycho" came out. How do you feel about the movie today? It was a remake many consider a blasphemy experiment and nothing more that hasn't really attempted before or since.  |

It’s pretty darn bad. The performances aren’t bad, but the fact they shot it exactly like the original bit-by-bit makes it all the more insulting.

Perhaps. I still liked the '52 Prisoner of Zenda more than the Ronald Colman version. |

Haven't seen it.
Vince Vaughn is miscast. Norman Bates was a non threatening wimpy type.
He should have been the John Gavin role.
Who is the John Gavin in this? Adrian Brody?
I could see them choosing a wimpier type as the boyfriend.
Viggo Mortensen.
He's more of a wimpier type than Vaughn. More subdued personality.
Cannot picture John Gavin playing that guy with the diaper problem in Carlito's Way.

Once I learned it was a shot-for-shot remake of the 1960 movie, I left it well alone.
