I know, Zos , I was keeping a keen eye on the game yesterday. And although the differences between Millwall and Chelsea are brutal, I had hoped Millwall would make the play-offs. I noticed a post in the listening thread about 'The Only Living Boy In New Cross'. I believe you posted it. I remember some years ago going out with the gang to an Elvis competition. One of the gang fancied himself as an Elvis impersonator, and indeed is doing very well for himself to this day, but on the night the usual thing happened and drunken friendly-fire happened and I found myself walking at 1am from the Elephant, via a subway tunnel, and then walking nine sheets to the wind for an hour south into New Cross, or somewhere near it. How I made it home home I'll never know. And that's why I regard that song so fondly. Any other night I might have been coshed by some locals, but I was fortunate and made it to a cab office. I'm going back years. And I haven't been back there since, but the prospect of playing Millwall next season was, I own, an exciting prospect. There's a scene in Football Factory which sums up in a couple of minutes, albeit scripted, what many of us feel all our days, something intrinsic, insulated, ready to burst out and run amok once released. Billy Bright's reaction upon hearing the TV FA Cup draw that his beloved Chelsea would meet Millwall - at Millwall... And a shout out for that song too... Something was looking over me that night.

Harry Kane is gone right? Makes me wonder about my Spurs pick.

Harry Kane is gone right? Makes me wonder about my Spurs pick. Aye, end of an era for my team, sadly. I've predicted an away win for them as I feel obliged to for their first game of the season but you're free to change your prediction if you wish, as long as it's before it kicks off on Sunday.

Nah, that's ok, I'll stick with 'em. Man City with a 1 - 0 lead over Burnley right now, Haaland with his first of the season in the 4th minute.

Alejo Veliz, I think is the only one, unless I've missed some news. He's a wee bit young still. I'll try and trust Big Ange though. If he doesn't have a Plan B, I'd be surprised.

A little birdie tried assuring me that Brentford aren't the formidable side they were so I'll try and hold onto that. Yeah, 0-2 at nearly half-time, typical. I heard the players pulled the old knee-taking stunt again. I thought all that had been binned off??

Racism hasn't gone away.

Racism hasn't gone away. Most people don't have a problem with all the anti-racism initiatives that have been around in football for some years now, I applaud those. The knee-taking appears to be more divisive though. Certain gestures seem to have the opposite effect to what they should achieve.

You know, people who are in the closet racists.

Certain gestures seem to have the opposite effect to what they should achieve. It's only divisive amongst people who say things like "I'm not racist, but... (Insert racist statement here)". You know, people who are in the closet racists. I don't doubt there are some of those but it's made even some people from minority races roll their eyes. I'm Asian and dealt with some proper nasty racism back in the early to mid '80s but I don't feel like any of this is to my benefit. I prefer practical solutions, I'm not one for platitudes, except in rare cases.

Has anyone ever had a full house of 10 correct predictions? I hate to do the "actuuuualllly..." thing but, actually, and I don't know if staggerstag has forgotten this, towards the end of the last season when games were coming along thick and fast with barely any days between sets of matches, Zos managed to achieve a perfect ten. It was in a week when there were four sections to predict. He managed to correctly guess all ten games in section three. Check it out in the grid under the table: Zos's Perfect Ten
