Superman IV: The Quest for Peace is "so bad it's good," while Superman III has almost no redeeming qualities. Ross Webster is one of the lamest villains in movie history and Richard Pryor is completely out of place here. And then there is this... I think that the Number 1 Best Christopher Reeve " SUPERMAN" Movie Villain is Gene Hackman as 'Lex Luthor'. Although I do also think that Terence Stramp as 'General Zod' is a close 2nd.

I like Gene Hackman as Luthor but he is a little TOO silly for me to fully embrace. My favorite version of Lex Luthor and the only version I like in every way is the Superman: Animated Series version (voiced by Clancy Brown). This show also happens to be the only Superman adaptation I fully like. My favorite Superman movie villain is General Zod from Man of Steel. Zod from Superman II is my second favorite Superman movie villain. Strangely enough, the character of Zod isn't featured in the animated series. There are so many excellent Superman villains and all they ever use in the movies is Lex Luthor and General Zod. It's very frustrating.

Oh, Michael Shannon was Freaking AWESOME as 'General Zod' in " MAN OF STEEL" and so was Antje Traue as 'Faora'.

No, I think he is suppose to be white. It is never addressed one way or the other though. He looks Italian to me.

IV felt like a failed attempt to be a good movie.
III was silly but also great because it returned to Smallville and that junkyard scene.

Superman III is a masterpiece compared to The Quest for Peace.
