I'm sure most would think that Justice League would outgross Batman vs Superman expecting it to be the DCEU's answer to The Avengers and the success it had compared to all the other movies.
It's not really the same though is it?
Batman vs Superman already brought the big three characters Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman together for the very first time.
This Justice League isn't exciting in the same way The Avengers was. Batman and Wonder Woman have already been on the screen together and Superman doesn't look to be in it.
What you have instead is them together with Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg. Neither of those three have had movies beforehand and nobody really cares about Aquaman and Cyborg much as it is.
There was definitely more hype for seeing Batman and Superman together than what we have here with this.
Then the other big thing is that people didn't like Batman vs Superman or Suicide Squad either. Are people really going to fall for it for the third time when chances are this movie will be equally as poor.
It'll definitely make money but I wouldn't be surprised at all if it made less money than Batman vs Superman. That would be an enormous blow for DC if that happens.

Depends on the reception. If it's a fun movie, it will make more. Not sure if it has enough time and goodwill to make a billion though. That depends on how WW is received on how many times people go to see JL before SW comes out.

That depends on how WW is received on how many times people go to see JL before SW comes out. Dennis has it; there are a lot of factors. If I had to make a blind guess at this point, I'd say JL outperforms BvS.

50/50. We're three movies into the franchise and at this stage in the game, enough outlets and personalities are aware that the emperor is wearing no clothes in that Warner Brothers are having trouble behind the DCEU's production. Casual audiences might likely be more forgiving but both Batman versus Superman and Suicide Squad did experience major drop offs at the box office. If Wonder Woman does well this summer then Justice League might be able to ride that wave of good will to the billion dollar club.

I'm sure it will. Like you said, the novelty factor of seeing these titans on the screen together was already blown with BvS. Then BvS and Suicide Squad were received terribly, which equals diluted returns (and I don't know if enough good will can be earned back just with the Wonder Woman movie, on the off chance that it's good). Then there's the fact that Justice League probably wont be that great. Inserting more quips and jokes didn't help Suicide Squad, and it's not gonna help JL if it's yet another boring mess interrupted with disaster porn.
